Hey all, here's my entry for the building contest! There are 6 different diverse ships. There is a Dreadnought, a Battleship, a Fighter, a Military Transport/Cargo ship, a Miner, and a Probe. Here is a description each of them in order:
The Defender
The Defender is a fighter class ship designed to get up close and personal with the enemy, using it's twin beams to tear up ships. It also has good shielding, but also has a hull covering protecting the sensitive cockpit from the left, right, and rear.
The Farrier
The Farrier is a transport/cargo ship. It has 2 decks, the top deck being the command deck, and the bottom being the transport/cargo deck. It has average armor and shields, for a ship of it's size, but has no weapons. To get from the bottom deck to the top, one stands on a small platform near the rear of the ship and jumps up to the top deck.
The Acquirer
The Acquirer is a miner ship, intended to mine resources from asteroids. It features a system to close the large plates on the front, completely sealing the ship off like a turtle in it's shell. It also has a small machine gun armament for defense, but usually closes itself off and turns on it's ion computer during a battle.
The Discoverer
The Discoverer is a small probe, intended to scout out areas, and has no practical use in a fleet. It has a cloaker and a radar jammer.
The Bulwark
The Bulwark is a huge warship resembling a space station, with three beam turrets around the sides and back of the ship, and an explosive cannon on the front. There are also 4 anti-missile turrets. The interior consists of a main command room with glass all around, and 3 tubes leading to the back and sides of the ship ending in an access port into the turrets. There is a small room behind the main gun with a teleporter to enter the ship.
The Stalwart
The Stalwart is a large battleship class warship. It has 8 beam cannons, 4 anti-shield cannons, and 1 auto-cannon with explosive modules. The method of entering the ship is to float up to the hatch beneath the ship in 0 gravity. The gravity can be turned on within the ship, creating a natural barrier to entering the ship, as the hatch is too high up to enter. The ship does not have very strong shields however, and so relies upon a hull covering over the sides and back of the ship to protect the interior. The ship also has a troop transport section.
