The GFN Fi-201 Mako fighter/interceptor is an older generation of starfighter from the Galactic Federal Navy Shipyards in the Col system, but still remains in service due to its reliability and abundance of replacement parts. Over 1 billion Mako interceptors have been in service since their first deployment 20 years ago, making it one of the most recognizable GFN ships in the galaxy. Today it's estimated that there are fewer than a thousand still in service, usually on border patrol or station defense duties.
