Greetings, Comrades!
After release of the Bastion Class Heavy frigate, our Siegeworks realized that we would need to produce more than anti-fighter support frigates. Excellent lessons were learned in the creation of a compact, light-weight capital vessel, such as the relative value of extended range, and most importantly, force projection. As such, our vessels are now being engineered with the idea of enough speed to keep considerable standoff distances between you and the many foes who wish to hit you with their big-ass space swords. At those extended ranges, hitting your target is just as important, hence the long range, high alpha damage weapons mounted to our ships.
Despite all this, we knew that eventually, something more complexe and... heavier would need to be introduced into our ship catalogue.
Enter the Citadel Class Heavy Battleship.
Quarter Starboard Bow
Starboard
Quarter Starboard Stern
I do love turrets. As always, the many numbers of compact fury turrets dot the hull. There is a total of 50, 25 dorsal, 25 ventral, with 10 of those covering the stern. In addition to these point defense missile turrets, we have our first ever Blitzkrieg United developed turrets, the rage class, essentially an anti-ship siege turret, designed to engage other enemy capital ships.
As we here at Blitzkrieg United Siegeworks are discovering, this ship is much larger than the classification we gave it, being classified as a heavy titan class.
I like this.
Where as the Bastion is meant as a light support and escort frigate. This ship is the primary backbone of a fleet. It is designed to engage enemy capital vessels and small fleets and to soak up the damage as it slowly chews through the enemy numbers. Fighter hoards are cannon fodder for this ship, and it will easily take on three pirate controlled bastion class ships.
As Always, included in the package is a bridge
A Barracks for twenty crewmembers, complete with latrine. Enough space is available for fourteen turret operators, and six bridge officers (cook, medic, weaponry, political officer, XO, captain)
A Chow Hall
A Medical Bay
A Rec Room
Storage Space
And a new addition for our fleet command vessels, a war room
Thpppppppppt. I'm telling you, this was a huge project. I'm bushed, and so is our construction team. These ships are designed to be offensively intimidating. Not only are they built with impressive numbers in mind, bearing 10 million shields, 14 million armor, and 32.5 total structural hitpoints, but the ship was designed to take a beating. Non-essential defensive systems are on the outside, with the reactor rods and power capacitors contained on the interior. It's the first ship we've developed with reactors, enabling an extra 1 million energy regen per second. The command bridge, despite having layers of non-essential rooms in between it and the vacuum of space for protection, still has an excellent view of the surrounding space. The bridge is also protected by the reactors, and then the jump inhibitors, requiring several more penatrating hits before the command bridge is breached. The nose of the bow is reinforced with meters thick advanced armor, creating a battering ram of sorts.
Despite all this, the ship isn't unwieldy, an impressive feat. It has an almost perfect 1/2 thrust to mass ratio, and has nearly the same top speed of our Bastion Class, being able to reach just faster than the server maximum speed. The jump drive still runs slowly, but again, not so slow that it's agony outside of combat. The ship also has a considerable storage capacity, and with it's many turrets, thick armor, potent shields, and moderate speed, makes an incredible blockade runner.
Solo, the ship in capable hands will easily be able to engage larger fleets. However, it is generally not advisable to field this ship without a Bastion Class Escort.
In fleet fights, this vessel is designed to serve as a fleet command ship, and firepower backbone. A wedge for you to drive into your enemy and split them apart.
If you're looking for a brick of a ship that you can anchor your fleets around, look no further.
Blitzkrieg Inc is not responsible for lost fights or general harm caused to player for negligence, poor maintenance, or general lack of situational awareness. A wounded pride is not a valid injury. Fury class turret is a registered trademark of Crimson Corp Fleet Dynamics. All problems consistent with the compact Fury Class Turret should be directed at Crimson Corp Fleet Dynamics. Warning, dangerous weapon. Do not point at eyes. Do not intentionally ram into enemies. Leasing of Citadel Class Heavy Battleship subject to credit approval and 2-year contract signing on purchase date. Not available in some dimensions. Limit one per purchase. General statistics subject to change.
