-- Backstory --
The CC-1 was the first vessel produced by Bephinius-Per Yards its third generation of vessels. Mainly, this was the transition from the older, but still potent Nocx and Bastyn crystals for power transfer into the more efficient Varat crystals. These more efficient crystals, in turn, allowed larger power systems to remain stable. This era was also met with a change in hull design, moving away from projection plating, and integrating it into the main hull.
Originally designed as a replacement for the now-ancient, but still impressive Stormer corvette, the CC-1 became more command-oriented, sporting two multipurpose shuttles - one designed with a reinforced engine frame to allow it to exceed normal speed limits - and one with multipurpose astrotechnical and salvage beams. In addition, the CC-1 has a powerful jump drive, and unlike most smaller models, can be stably charged.
The main weapons on the CC-1 are designed to punch through surface armor by disrupting its energy field - bypassing it and causing extensive damage to the systems beneath.
The CC-1 has a standard crew complement of four, large for a ship of this size, but mainly because of the shuttles and more advanced defensive systems present. The dangerous nature of space travel has led our engineers to design an integrated tactical command center, rather than a traditional "observational bridge." While crews have objected to this, referring to the CC-1 as a "glorified sardine can," they generally prefer it to being shot up when the shields go down.
We hope you'll enjoy this vessel, and hopefully add it to your lineup in the future. Until then, best of luck from myself and the entire staff (of two) at Bephinius-Per Yards.
