system wipe after download

THE GAME CAUSED MY FREAKING LAPTOP TO WIPE ITS OWN USER DATA I HAD TO HAVE IT FORMATTED TO USE IT AGAIN, I REFUSE TO TRY AND DOWNLOAD THE GAME AGAIN BEFORE I HAVE AN ANSWER!!!

-sigh- sorry for caps its just really ticked me off thats all..... can someone please tell me why this happened

you\'ve managed to make the game do something it is literally and utterly incapable of doing.
you\'re using the launcher downloaded from THIS site right? because i know theres a malware laden *ahem* \'pirate\' copy that got removed recently. it claims to be the closed beta client and no such thing exists.

you did get your copy HERE right? either from downloads or from files.star-made.org?
because if you got it anywhere else you have only yourself to blame.

yes i got it from here after looking in to the problem it appears to be a very complex \"piggyback\" virus

it appeared the day after downloading this, which was yesterday

Apparently his laptop had a serious infection, causing some major issues coincideding with him trying starmade for the first time, and he drew a hasty conclusion and thought the game was to blame.



No harm done, it was cleared up, this topic gets a nice and shiny padlock now.
