As you probably don't remember I've posted several of my projects here over the couple of years I've been playing StarMade. Well, those projects all petered out. (Which is why you don't remember them) However! This time I have a new strategy. All of those times I started by building a large capital ship. It was not very rewarding, because it took so long to make progress. So this time I've tried building a small ship first. I think it might be working, because in just an hour or so I've finished the hull. In that time I could maybe have blocked out the dimensions of a line ship.

So, without further ado... here's what I have.

(The gun and the systems haven't been done yet, it's just a shell)

It's a heavy fighter. For my fleet structure, I envision having both light and heavy fighters- light fighters will be carrier/station based and therefore won't need FTL drives. Heavy fighters on the other hand will, because they're intended to operate more independently and will therefore be suitable for scouting or escort duty.

But enough about what I think. What do you think? Please give me all your feedback, I want to improve.

Quite an impressive ship already. The inside looks like it might be a bit over-decorated (Too many computers/screens along that wall) but it's a very nice-looking shell.

I agree, those screens aren't great.

Here's a better shot of the inside of the cockpit:

As you can see it's pretty plain, and would be even more so without those screens. (The hull color isn't final though, so there is that.) I don't like them there, but I felt like it should have something at least. I wish we had more choices for decorative blocks... some wedge shaped consoles or something would be nice.

    Love it, nice work
    Thanks! :D

You can use charged circuits (Or regular circuits) to simulate holograms/HUDs(Heads-Up Displays). Or you can fit a console in close to the seat. I love the execution of a very spacious tandem seating arrangement.
But remove those screens---replace with fewer colors, at least. Choose a color for your interior. Then use displays that work with that color. Maybe fit some consoles in instead.

I love the whole thing, including the cockpit. Reminds me a bit of 2001.

I imagine some day soon many of those decorative computers will need to be replaced with real utility computers.

Edit: Don't be afraid to turn weapon computers around and use the backs as decorative control panels. That way, they become a little more subtle and not so glaring. The blue "server" blocks are also quite nice and subdued.

I was especially thinking of using them in a HUD style, floating or standing in front of the chairs. But yeah, it's a big improvement.

Cool interior. It looks like it needs wings - you've got that drop-back tail section, and I think it would help if you had short anhedral wings, kind of like the UNSC Pelican but with an F-4 Phantom II-style downturn on the tips. So, a short straight section then a down slope. Or something like that. Also, rake them back at, well, I think 45* would work. There's just a spot on that hull that LOOKS like a wing mounting point. Also it's long and thin and I feel like it would gain something from having a spot (wings) where it bulked out to the sides. Not too much, but I think it would fit.
As usual, if you disagree, go with what you think. It's your ship, after all.
But it's cool, so nice job.
