As you probably have already seen, I added wiki functionality to the site. At the moment, every logged in user can contribute and edit Articles. Should there occur any vandalism or spam, I will restrict the free editing. www.star-made.org/wiki

We\'ve been working on the rtag wiki:

Nice. So two questions:

1. Is that wiki (http://wiki.starmade.rtag.me) the \"official\" version, making all other wikis unofficial?

TheImperialDonut, that Wiki is so riddled with trash... the last 500 new pages/users/edits have been advertisements from wiki bots.

A casual glance at your Recent Changes page tells me that the leaders behind http://wiki.starmade.rtag.me/wiki have zero interest in its upkeep. I mean no disrespect, but I would much rather take my wiki expertise to a different wiki if this is the case.

I believe I\'ll stay with http://starmade.wikia.com.

Hmm, I also found a wiki at http://www.starmadewiki.com

I personally find the layout better and the information is also more up to date.

It also has these nice nav-boxes which list all the blocks etc.

No, it\'s not up to date. It specifically states \"add more cloakers to cover your ship\" on the cloaker page. This is completely and utterly wrong.



The wikia page is also out of date and has tons of dead pages.

Nothing\'s perfect, but that is the specific idea of a wiki: everyone can contribute and edit the page if something is wrong.

Solely complaining about the mistake and not making an effort to correct it isn\'t very helpful to everyone else who reads the article.

Sure, that wiki has some errors, but it still stands out as the best out of all the other wikis, and I think it\'s worth the effort to contribute to and make it the main source of information for StarMade.

That\'s seven. Seven wikis. I think two is too many. Even wikis for other languages - like the French wiki - is pointless. An English wiki can have hundreds of translations using MediaWiki addons.

Schema, Beetlebear, or someone else in charge, I think the community could really benefit from one of you pointing to a wiki and saying \'That one.\'

EDIT: Nevermind, it seems the home page wiki now has a link to http://www.starmadewiki.com as the secondary Official Wiki. Glad that\'s settled.

It will be relatively similar tot the rtag wiki but tied into the main site, this will be the one and only wiki to use as far as we\'re concerned. It\'s basically finished, but waiting on a databse transfer, so not long now.
