    Hey gang,

    Here is the latest in the basics series of starmade tutorials. In this video, we cover how to create turrets.

    Definitely seems like it\'d be helpful for beginners.

    Also I didn\'t know about the setting DEFAULT_BLUEPRINT_ENEMY_USE
    I\'ve been ambushed by a fair share of thunderclaps in the past...

    this tutorial helps me alot thanks btw how did you make your ship go so fast i use the same design as this ship but it only goes 50 km can you help me on that? thanks

    In your starmade folder. you can open it with notepad.
    Then you find the line that says \"THRUST_SPEED_LIMIT = 50\"
    and change 50 to whatever you want the max speed to be (I suggest somewhere between 100 and 200)

    it can\'t use any beams though, and I\'m not sure about BB missiles.

    I\'ve set up drones with BB\'s and KB\'s, they never fire them. And I highly doubt they\'ll fire d1000\'s.

    Trust me, I know, my faction is based around drone use.

    Yeah, that was a bit of sarcasm there. With turrets and the AI in the spotlight, I figured now would be a good time to elicit some statements from the devs ;)

    Thanks for explaining though.

    I\'d still like to hear about the timeframe the AI is set to get an overhaul - is it high priority, or way down the line? Are there even plans to improve the AI? Pirate ships crashing into planets, faction turrets blindly firing \"through\" homebase terrain/friendlies without checking LOS and no chance of ever hitting their target, stuff like that.

    turrets dont need their own power source, they feed off the main ships power, unfortunately they dont share shields, which i REEeALLy hope gets changed in the future.

    IMO turrets have to have their own shields - just like they don\'t get armour protection from the main ship. It wouldn\'t make much sense to concentrate on taking out the turrets when you can just as well take out the main ship. The reason why turrets have their own shields is to make for more tactical gameplay, so it likely won\'t get changed in the future.

    why dont i have the DEFAULT_BLUEPRINT_ENEMY_USE file, i open the starmade folder, find folder \"data\" and here config but no server.config why?

    what is that file? where, directly from the main folder onwards

    if your going medevil style make them look like cannons.... and change it so its a slow relod but powerful damage to make it more cannon like.
