Sorry to ask how does the pickup area rail and the other 2 new blocks work?

Well, it hasn't come out yet so we don't really know, but from what they've said the pickup rails will be invisible, intangible blocks (like area sensors) and if you pass through them or get near them with a docker, you'll snap on much like magnetic docking does now.

Kupu has already putted the texture for the blocks in build mode

It will be explained in the update video and in the dev blog when it is released.

I really hope it pulls you into it at a slowly increasing speed starting at 20-30 mps. If it snaped into place it would make a giod deal of lag with docking chains.

How it works in the current DEV build:

The two new types of rails connect to the current rail block as a type of invisible extension.

When a docked ship moves from a regular rail block onto a launcher rail block the docked entirely will pick up speed and be launched into space when it hits the end of the launcher rail.

The pick up area block and receiving rail works the opposite way. You use the receiving rails to guide the entity onto a regular rail system. The pick up area is a block that creates a nav marker that snaps you onto the receiving rails when you fly through it.

So they are all connected roughly like this: (arrows being the direction the rails are pointing)

Pick up area -> receiving rail -> standard rail -> launcher rail.

It should be noted that the "pick up area" is not like the area trigger. You only need a single pick up area module, not a wall of them.

And now that the update has been released, we can all have fun exploring how it works.
