Alright, so I just started playing this game a few days ago, and I have some questions.

    1) What is the largest size of ship that's practical? Has anyone made functioning ships that are ~4 km long?

    2) What are pvp servers like?

    3) Can multiple people fly on one ship at once?

    4) Is it ever possible to go over 50 km/h?

    5) Do you actually have a body like you do in minecraft? Aka, can you see other players?

    6) Do weapons only fire forwards, or can you have sideways- and backwards-facing weapons as well?

    7) I've heard it's possible to build a ship in singleplayer and buy it in multiplayer. Is this also possible even if the ship in singleplayer was build with the aid of admin commands and stuff?

    Thanks :)

    Welcome to Starmade!

    1. Ships over a kilometer long tend to destroy framerate or servers entirely. I\'d recommend larger projects to be up to 600-800 meters in their longest axis.

    2. PvP servers vary greatly, but on a normal, unmodded Starmade server you can expect a lot of thieving, ganking some exploits, and the very occasional full-on faction fleet battle. Some servers are more tame, or make acquiring billions of credits harder, or have other modifications, so if one server doesn\'t fit your preferences try different ones.

    3. Multiple people can enter a core or computers, so yes!

    4. You can change the speed limit for servers you host (Including singleplayer) by opening the server.cfg file and changing the speed limit option in there, but don\'t go too high. If the speed limite is over 200 you\'ll find yourself warping into objects and slowing he game/server down.

5 You do, although it looks rather... Odd.

    6. There is a way to have broadside or rear guns, but I forgot how. You can also have turrets for that, which ocunt as separate ships docked using the turret docking unit, allowing the ship to move and fire indepindently of hte mothership.

    Hope that helps!

PVP servers with whitelists and active staff are okay. PVP servers without them are shit because trolls and noobs will crash into planets or spawn dozens of zero-price replica Battlestar Galacticas or something else dumb.

You can make broadsides guns by pressing ctrl + period key to rotate the block direction. each time you press period it rotates the direction again.

I strongly suggest you setup a cockpit in the location (facing the same way as your guns) or else hitting things will be.... problematical.

If they change the FOV with the SD cockpits, people will be able to make broadside cruisers.
