Slabs can make for some very nice curves, as long as the curve you are trying to contour has a slope of 1:4 or less. Getting slab-contouring to interface with wedged contours presents some novel challenges and compromises.

I'm waiting for slab tetras and wedges and pentas (or heptas as they're called in game now) before I start covering my ship in them. If we got slab versions of those blocks you could do some really smooth curves.
