Personal Weapons: Increase Muzzle Velocity

    The muzzle velocity of the default pistol is far too slow. Gunfights have less to do with reflexes and accuracy and more to do with being able to lead aim on your target. For FPS-style combat, this is not desirable. It feels like a snowball fight.

    Recommend increasing muzzle velocity of the pistol to at least 350-400 meters per second, somewhere around the speed of a real-life 9mm pistol cartridge. Lead aim will still be relevant at great ranges and slightly relevant at medium range to give the sniper weapon purpose, but it won't feel like a snowball fight anymore.

    You need to actually have a fight before you start optimizing it ;)

    Currently, astronaut combat is a very subdued area of the game....unless you consider shooting the shopkeeper for fun as a gunfight :P


    P.S: Increasing muzzle velocity will mean almost no chance of dodging bullets as is possible currently.
    Also, the current system makes it difficult for an astronaut to hit a moving ship (as it should be). Your suggestion will nullify this.

    I'm fine with the current pistol's bullet-hell-ish speed. We have a sniper rifle, and I'm assuming more weapons would be included in a future astronaut-oriented update, be it as boarding or crew support.
