We have slabs in the game. I like this a lot, but before we get too far down the road, I'd like to suggest a slightly different approach that preserves the item ID-space and expands creative potential.

    1. Merge Hull and standard armor, or merge standard and advanced armor so we have existing block styles for normal, exterior, "stuff that goes between me and the pirate-infested vacuum of space"

    2. Take the existing block IDs for whichever class of block got merged, and use it not for "hull" but "bulkhead".

5 Bulkhead shapes replace the block/wedge/corner/tet/hep:
    1. plate (1x1x.25)
    2. triangle half-plate: the triangular face of a wedge x .25m
    3. ramp: the rectangular face of a wedge .25m thick
    4. rectangle half-plate: 1x.5x.25
    5. bar: 1x.25x.25
Bonus bulkhead shapes, if the IDs are available.
    • 1/2 ramp (half width)
    • 1/4 ramp (angle bar)
    • 1/2 ramp (diagonal)

    Why?:
    • light-thin interior walls
    • wings, fins, baffles
    • More bed-like beds. with more pillowy pillows
    • Wedge chairs with real arm-rests
    • Quarter slabs can be arranged to make railings, bars, meshes
    • Hull detailing and vastly improved writing
    • landing skids
    • pin-stripes
    • gas-intakes
    • SO much more flexibility for small ships.
    • Low-profile cover plates for systems that wind up needing to intersect your otherwise pretty hull.
