This is a suggestion for Schine and Server Owners a like. Since you can do this any way you want.
For the NPC Update many will opt for a full server wipe and start on a fresh map.
The Default Derelict, Trade and Pirate Stations really are to old to keep into the game. Maybe we get new default stations with the NPC update. But in case we don't then please replace them yourself as this can only be done on a new server map.
A map is seeded by what kind of Blueprint it finds in the default directories. Once this is done those stations can not be replaced. So replace the Station Blueprints before you hit new server.
There is plenty to choose from here on Starmadedock or you could build them yourself.
Stations that have a use for people are best. Like Shipyards, Warp Gates, Factories, Small Home Base etc. Try to keep the stations entity/turret count down and go easy on the size. Since it's just dress up. It should not take lots of server CPU to load them or use them.
This is a great way to flavor your server or to stand out from the crowd. A new map makes for a great opportunity to try this out.
