    This is the fore-page for the Liquid Systems Nano Yard© ship showcase!

    Are you looking for a smaller ship that has all the things you need? Well, too bad, we specialize in making small ships that have one specific thing you need. Everything else gets left behind as we attempt (and generally succeed) to bring you things that fill your niche needs and scratch that itch you've been meaning to get too but never do.

    Where mentioned all sizes are in the format of Length x Width x Height.

    The Flea.

    A nano-drone fitting in a mere 7 x 7 x 5, the Flea is a versatile chassis with multiple variants and will gladly fulfill any role you desire. Regardless of variant every Flea model drone aims to achieve the following;
    • A low price-tag of less than 50k! (not including tax)
    • A Shielded systems core with easy access to core, faction, and AI blocks
    • Modular weapons capable of easily swapping out
    • Be deployed from the smallest possible docking units available (< 7 x 7 x 7 in size)
    Flea Showcase Photos (many of these are dated and need to be updated)

    //2 pack of guided Overdrive equipped Missiles, w/ minimal cost.

    The original Flea aims to please with it's incredibly low starting cost, and excellent damage / cost ratio. Don't let it's cute exterior fool you, the Flea bites hard with it's guided Overdrive missiles each dealing 900 damage.

    //Beams w/ Overdrive + Missiles w/ Overdrive

    Are anti-missile systems a pain? Does it bother your swarm when they can no longer attack freely? Then the Phaser Flea is the answer! With it's primary damage dealing beam weapons, the Phaser flea can freely attack targets with impunity, no need to worry about those pesky AMS turrets any more!Buy a Phaser flea (or 20) today!

    //Rapid Fire OD Rockets

    Shield-Rechargers got you feeling down? Just can't make a dent in his armor? Be troubled no longer friends, the Angry Flea is the drone you've been looking for. 2 Rapid fire overdrive rocket launchers are here to say goodbye regen and [Accent = "Scarface"]Say hello to my little friends![/Accent]

    //Super powered version of the original

    Original Flea just not enough? Do you need moar powa?! Then try our new Quad Flea. Double the missiles means 4x the FUN.

    //4x chainguns and Twin OD shotguns

    Are other drones getting in the way? Do you wish you had a proverbial drone-swatter? We heard your call for Drone on Drone warfare and have responded with the most technologically advanced, pineapple driven, Flea we've developed to date. The Brawler Flea features four rapid fire chain-guns designed to spew hot Anti-matter in the face of oncoming missile hordes. As if that wasn't enough we also threw on 2 overdrive shotguns with the express intent of creating the largest area denial we could. You asked for it, and it's here, the Brawler Flea.

    The Dune. (In need of updates)

    Light drone carrier and overall support ship. The Dune is capable of mounting a pair of standard 9 x 9 x 9 turrets (Sold Separately), as well as 4 racks of our latest and greatest seller Flea Drones. This light carrier is designed to achieve a swarm effect on a poor man's budget of less than 10,000,000 credits and it works! The Dune includes the following on purchase;
    • 4 Racks of the latest Flea Drone models Free of charge (some additional fees apply see manual for details)
    • Our trademark Push-Beam Launch system
    • An easily accessible core area
    • Decorative and Functional Interior
    • Comfortably walk-able pathways to both turrets (don't mind the holes, they're decorative)
    • Multiple external cameras
    • A modest price tag of ___ credits
    • Fully modular shields and enclosed reactor bays
    • An industrial cutting laser for all your space-toast needs.

    -To Be Named- (Mothballed)

    The ____ is our latest carrier design. It refits the old L.A.Z.Y.F.A.R.T. freighter into a modestly shielded jump carrier with a decent payload of Flea drones. Mind you this is not a combat vessel, despite the pretty blue toaster beams.

    <This ship is a work in progress. More photos and content will be added as I get to it, eventually, whenever I feel there's enough pineapple lying about to actually get my wife excited enough to leave me alone for an hour or two...>

    //External Views

    The above ship has been mothballed until further funds has been devoted to our aging retro-refits department.

    Classifications:
    Our system here at Liquid Systems is not based on size at all. We instead have chosen to ignore size, leaving that to the dimensions of the ship itself, and instead use an informative scheme that tells us what the ship is meant to do. We realize that every ship can be used in every way, and that not all ships are created equally. However a simple scheme should be able to inform the purchasing party of what the ship is generally good at.

    Ship Classifications

    The Classifications of our ships are in the following format;

    xX(x)#-##

    The first letter.

    This letter is one of the following options, and indicates the armoring on the ship. This allows everyone interested in using said vessel to know immediately whether or not it can take a direct hit and survive.

    • l - light armor, minimal standard armor if any. Hull consists mainly of basic hull.
    • m - medium armor, standard armor all around, no advanced, minimal basic hull. Includes up to 2 layers of standard armor.
    • h - heavy armor, anything beyond medium armor, 3+ layers of standard armor, or advanced armor.
    The second(& third) letter.

    These indicate the specific role of the vessel, whether it is intended for direct combat or just a support role. It will be indicated by one(two) of these letters;
    • E - escort class, meant to provide supporting fire to larger or less armed ships.
    • C - carrier class, meant to provide transport, maintenance, and support to smaller ships
    • R - Ranger/Raider/Rover class, purpose is direct assault, lounging, and general do-everything solo play. These ships are meant to be all purpose combat vessels, capable of operating alone or in groups for extended periods of time.
    • S - fast attack/Swarm class, small ships meant only to operate in large numbers or as a hit & run vessel. Almost always limited to l/m armor, will rarely include h armor.
    -Sa - Swarm Assault, drone meant for direct assault of a ships systems.
    -Ss - Swarm Support, drone meant to disrupt, disable, or reduce a ships capacity to fight
    -Sz - Swarm Specialty, drone is some random combination of wackyness
    • F - Friendly, Civilian / non-combat support ships. Freighters, colony ships, etc.

    More may be added as we come up with them. For the most part this encompasses just about everything though.

    The First number-

    Indicates Range of the vessel and whether or not it has combat potential.

    0- Non-combatant OR point blank range, bombs, pulsars, etc.
    1- Close Range Combatant, can take a hit and return fire. Shorter ranges means in your face.
    2- Long Range Combatant, prefers to attack from extreme distance to avoid damage. Often meant as an alpha strike ship.

    The Last numbers-

    These indicate the version of the ship, literally whatever mk_ it would be. This is just for information regarding how many have lapsed or gone by. It's more for my records than anything else.

    Example;
    -01 is the first in the series
    -04 would be the fourth in the series or ____ mk4/mk IV

    I quite like this style of ships and the thread itself.

    Thanks! I was going for a mass produced look, so everything is built off templates first and then just copied over :D. The drones themselves are templates too. :rolleyes:

    I love the Phaser flea. :D
    Its mine too, the one pictured above is actually the original version. The mk2 has the OD missiles, only a couple of differences between the two but it's a staggering performance upgrade. ~double the shielding, costs about 15k less, improved missile damage from 225 to 450. The one pictured above has explosive instead of OD turns out that particular effect computer costs about 8k... which is way too much for a drone.

    In other news;
    • I will be building a larger chassis based off the flea sometime hopefully today.
    • I will also try to finish redoing the interior of my freighter cause it was using advanced armor as deco blocks and that's just too pricey. It's a non-combat ship so i'll be swapping it out with basic hull instead. So far that has resulted in a price drop of 30 million, and it's not done yet!
    • Also going to attempt to rework the Angry flea and Quad flea to get their prices down a bit. They're both pretty expensive and have lackluster shielding so a mk2 version of each is on the horizon.
    • Also going to throw together a sampler pack so people can download all of the latest flea versions.
    • Developed a new rack system while I was working on the freighter, it uses disintegrators to destroy the rack after launch. All in the name of reducing entity counts to hopefully improve combat performance.

    A new drone I am working on, comments welcome, it's just a skeleton at the moment but yes that is a turret underneath.

    edit: probably will be removing the turret. Just doesn't feel right... any opinions?

    The turret would feel right, if the bounding box would be reduced by 1 block on each side.

    Just tried that, looks better but now it's just a system block :confused: not too thrilled with that. I like it to be pretty as well as functional. :p Thanks for the suggestion, it's definitely the right size, just need to tweak it a bit. ;)

    So after much tweaking, altering, chopping, throwing mice on wheels, and observing hamsters on caffeine, I came to the conclusion to X the turret. In the end i came up with a nice small, laser turret that'll be reused somewhere down the line. Just not right now... So without further ado my next creation is ready!

    Presenting the Kabuto heavy drone.

    Armed with a pair of heavy duty toaster certified Overdriven Extensor Beams, and a pair of Hercules Class Tactical Nukes, the Kabuto comes with one heck of a bite. Capable of delivering extended range high power death beams straight into the enemy core (or the giant space toaster oven we have here). It can launch a pair of vertical tactical nukes sure to overload or destroy most smaller prey with ease as well as lay a serious alpha beat-down on the enemy.

    Disclaimer: We at LSNY are not responsible for mother-ship damage due to careless discharge of heavy weaponry inside/outside your hangar(s), please read the owners manual for more information on radiation poisoning and handling instructions of nuclear weaponry. As always enjoy responsibly.

    Specific Stats:
    • Mass/Thrust: 68/38.3
    • L x H x W : 17 x 7 x 11
    • Power/Regen: 50k / 5835.3
    • Shields: 11110.0/242
    • Laser Alpha: 210/hit * 4-hits * 2-arrays = 1680 / 5 Seconds
    • Missile Alpha: 1800*2 = 3600 / 90 Seconds
    Note on the missiles: I tried beam slaves but with vertical launch they have to be slower in order to hit without circling forever. Only Damage pulse slows down the missiles so it was pretty much a given. Didn't bother with an effect either given 90 second recharge, extra shields appears more useful given it's role.

    Once I realized that I had absolutely no way to transport my new Drones I began working on this...

    It's a jump ship, current code name is the "Slip Ship". It's sole purpose is to jump, deploy, and re-jump out of the engagement area back to a safe place. As such it has an 11 second charge time, without weapons it is vulnerable, however the drones offer a large degree of coverage so it's not exactly an easy target.

    As you can see the drones themselves provide a great deal of coverage to the ship, meaning it's shield capacity is fine at only 2k. Also remember, Non-combatant. This ship is also extremely affordable in MP servers, coming in at just over half a mil(595k) -drone costs. A substantial difference from the Dune (9 mil).

    Up next will likely be my newest cruiser. Taking a break from drones for a bit... well... sort of, the Cruiser will likely mount two of these slip ships in hangars... dunno yet still doodling it out on paper. o_O Considering mounting some Kabutos directly for support and using logic gates to launch once damage has been taken.

    Edit: Here's what it looks like fully loaded...

    Or, you could just use a refit of this:

    Really, really, really dig the drone mindset here. Very unique, I think if you stick with this as a cornerstone of many of your builds it would be wicked!

    Excited for more progress. Keep it up!

    I don't think I could ever totally abandon drones, I love how they're small but effective plus... I'm a zerg rush kinda guy. So I'm definitely keeping some drones on every vessel, even my AI operated escorts will have drones.

    That's what I came up with an idea for last night actually, but it was late and I couldn't test it, so sometime today I'll let you all know how it works out. Stay tuned!

    Edit: Quickly threw together a rough prototype of what I'm intending to do. Can you guess what this'll do?;)

    Your slip ship should mount multiple jump drive systems.

    I'm not entirely sure why that would help... does it charge faster with multiple computers? 11 Seconds is already pretty quick compared to most ships I've seen using a jump drive. Also more computers adds a hefty amount to the total cost. 4 additional computers is about 100k, and without good justification I can't possibly consider the additional cost. Sorry.

    The benefit is chain-jumping, ie starting a jump with a new computer as soon as the last finishes.

    @Zyrr ok, I can kinda see that helping, I'll add a second computer and hook that up later. 2 Jumps, 1 in, 1 out, should be plenty. The slip ship is only meant to be there for a brief period anyways before returning to base. Really long distance jumping wouldn't be useful with this kind of ship. It's more of a "medium" range vessel.[DOUBLEPOST=1415206980,1415204011][/DOUBLEPOST]Some photos of the drone cruiser... Considering but still not entirely decided on whether or not I wanna flip it on it's side....

    The two ships floating beside are dummy ships, they're there to give me an idea of what framework to build weapons into.

    Is that an epic load of activation blocks for damage detection? I wish we had IF blocks that could access shield percentages and such :D
    Nice to see more competition in the heavy drone market. I like how far R&D has come :) continue the work and go at least double digit drone count :p
