Charon 2.0 - A WIP super titan [Update 4 : drone rework]

    This is a "little" project I started around early 2013. It's going to be my own personal titan with a "computer controlled, no crew (apart from the pilot)" theme, meaning fairly futuristic and robotic looking. It is 100% self-inspired and built completely by hand (also the first real ship I started building). I decided to completely restart the project following an unfortunate update that broke all the rail systems on the original ship, along with some major dissatisfaction towards certain portions of the ship on my part.

    Current progress on the 2.0 version:

    Oh, the Kepick Titan, it was only a matter of time until I saw this here. The Bigg Gunn (Tm) is extremely sexy.

    ... are they angled ice crystals?

    Lemme know if you ever upload the turret by itself, wouldn't mind taking a closer look at it, as for the ship, I LOVE IT, it's pretty futuristic looking, nowhere near the thinks I like to see/do but still love it. 10/10 love the name to

    These look extremely awesome. Also, that seems to be either angled black, angled blue, or angled white hull.

    I absolutely love that turret, the forked hull thing has never done anything for me, but holy hell that gun is fantastic. The little bit on the underside of it makes it look like a giant belt-fed chain gun. Super fucking original if that was your intent, if not, you should make it your intent.

    Thanks for all the support, I'm actually smiling right now! Here, have likes (it's the least I can do) :D

    To answer questions:
    1. I'll probably upload the turret, keep in mind that it will drain 5 million power per second from the main ship/station.
    2. Orph, there are no ice crystal wedges (I wish there was). What you're seeing is probably the glow reflecting on a grey hull wedge.

    this ship is very impressive cant wait until its done my two favorite features of this ship is the bridge and the weapons keep up the great work also I don't see any need in any more detail work BTW I would also like to play around with it and see how powerful it is but it is a personal titan so I don't see that happening and have a great day :D

    Thanks a lot. Even though it's a personal capship I may upload it under the conditions of people not using it against me. Or just a gimped version (systems wise), I really haven't taken a decision on that yet. And I'm pretty sure that it's gonna have to wait for a couple more months lol.

    lol, only the front. I'm currently making the back part and it takes it away from the "tuning fork" look.

    lol, I have to admit that some of those areas were a giant pain to make. But it was worth it :)

    Well for a first serious ship you defiantly decided to take a huge bite of work! Over all the project looks good. Your ship is interesting looking and will defiantly be something to be proud of when your finished. I have some reservations about your super turret through... I mean I am building a heavy cruiser that isn't as long as that turret. Gezz...

    Also a 6 km range sounds fantastic. But if I'm not mistaken you cant even see a target beyond 2.5 km. So you might consider channeling that range into damage or rate of fire.

    When the sectors are loaded the AI actually has up to 8km range. And even if that wasn't the case the uber projectile speed just means that it's undogeable at 2.5km range.

    I was completely unaware of that. That's an incredible engagement range. While I think I'm actually ok with the idea of beyond vision range (BVR) engagement I honestly don't like the current radar/sensor system in the game. I find interpreting it almost impossible. Still if they can improve the sensors and display of that information being able to fight BVR would become a credible part of the game but only if they make close in fighting the most deadly. Getting your fighter zapped at 8km by someone you never even detect would be mildly frustrating to say the least.

    That's true, also keep in mind that I could probably get close to 1 million dps with 1km range for the same power requirements. So yea, close range combat is already way deadlier.
