If I'm trying to increase the initial memory the game won't start.

There is no error message. The launcher just closes and nothing happens.

When I'm using only 512MB initial memory and 4096MB maximal memory the game starts but it says that the total ammount of memory is around 512MB.

    I have 16GB of ram, a intel i7-4770 CPU 3.40GHz and a Nvidia GTX780 graphics card.

    I'm using Windows 7 x64 and Java x64.

I've ask google but I didn't find an answer for my problem yet.

Does anyone of you guys have any ideas?

Changing the initial memory option is not necessary. It is, like the name suggests, the amount of memory the game has assigned to it when it starts. If it needs more, it takes more up until it hits the maximum memory limit.

In short: leave Initial Memory alone, change Max if you have to.

    Okay thx.

But when I\'m working on my ship (almost 2Million Blocks) my CPU goes up to 100% and the game tells me that i should increase the amount of memory.

I changed the maximal memory from 1024MB to 4096MB but the game seems not to use it... it says the total amount of memory is around 512MB...

If you have shadows enabled, disable them. For me this brings an incredible performance boost.

I already have shadows turned off.

Before the 0.14 update the game worked fine. Now I can\'t even remove 1 block without huge laggs or crashes.

I solved the problem. Java never used more than 512MB Ram because apparently I had -Xmx512m in my computers Environmental Variables. Now the game uses 1GB of ram when I play and my CPU works around 30%.
I\'m so happy right now. ^^ But still thanks for trying to help me guys ;)
