Hello, I've bought game waay back when buying it was optional (I think it was after changing price from $3 to $6). Some people here may remember me as well. How do I access it?

If you're using the same account, and bought the game with that account, then you should be registered as owning the game (currently no forum badge assigned yet). And yes, you download it at the top, there is not a sort of 'special download' at this time. I can't speak for the future.
