a block named droid assembler to make droids out of craftable parts. you would have to assemble a head, torso, arms and legs in order to make a droid. you can make battle droids like in star wars that can look humanoid or different depending on the parts. to start the idea you could make just 3 designs: a humanoid droid with a hand gun, a three-legged tank droid with guns on his arms and a beast droid that looks similar to some vicious beast (like a robot guard dog) from the game (once that update happens). you would have to assemble for example a tank droid head, torso, armsx2, and legsx3. the droid wouldn't be a substitute for a crew member because they would be like a turret rather than an actual npc. perhaps also make it possible to use the cannon effect blocks to modify it's ammo and colored hull (not gray) to give it colors. another example: a human droid assembled with a head, torso, legs, arms, blaster, main colour: red, subcolour:black and an ion effect block to create a droid with the same basic shapes as players and humans with a blaster shooting ion pulses with red main color trimmed with black. when a droid is produced, it will spawn next to the droid assembler and it will be givin a random number code as a name.
also, the droids would have to be linked to a universal control panel to supply energy. from the control panel, all droids can be (optionally) commanded all at once or individually, to select how far the droid can be around the control panel (min. distance: 5 blocks, max. distance 50 blocks for example, containing the droids within a certain area around the control panel). this makes it possible for a single infiltrator to shut down or haywire the entire droid network. it would also be possible to manually relocate droids.
manually comanding a droid will turn on manual overwrite. a manual overwrite droid can't be controlled from the control panel.
things droids can do:
1. power on/off: turning the droid off will shut down the droid (giving a command to a offline droid will reactivate it)
2.battle mode/stand by: a battle mode droid will shoot at every allowed target. a stand by will just, you know, stand by and watch
3.target allowance: select what targets the droid will attack (everyone but you, certain players or npc or certain factions)
4.patrol: it will walk around within the radius allowed by the control panel.
5.guard: stand still on one spot.
6.manual overwrite: disconnecting the droid from universal control (won't lose power supply)
7.self destruct: blow up, slightly damaging the area if not shielded
if a droid is fully disconnected or if the control panel is destroyed, the droid(s) will shut down after five minutes.
second subject: guns
an energy level for guns: when the level hit's zero, the gun needs recharge. to recharge the gun, you will need a gun charger. also, more types of guns: carabines, assault riffles, and assault canons
to avoid unfair advantages, here are stats for using these new guns compared to the hand gun (i labelled the stats of the hand gun with numbers to compare the guns more easily.)
1.hand gun
damage:5
range:5
reload:5
push-back:0
movement speed equipped:10
movement speed firing:10
2.carabine
damage:7
range:10
reload:3
push-back:8
movement speed equipped:5
movement speed firing:3
3.assault rifle
damage:5
range:7
reload:7
push-back:2
movement speed equipped:7
movement speed firing:6
4.assault cannon
damage:5
range:7
reload:10
push-back:2
movement speed equipped:3
movement speed firing:0
explanaition
movement speed equipped: the speed of the player when wielding the gun
movement speed firing: the speed of the player when firing the gun
push-back: how much the aim will move upward when firing
p.s.: these ideas are to promote and adapt to a possible npc system if the update comes and are based on the idea that it exists when this update would occur
