For a very long time now we needed the spawn camera to help preload chunks. Do we still need this? It seems like needed chunks for spawning are preloaded now using another method and all the orbital camera does is make load times much longer near planets and large stations.
In an extreme...
Fixing What Isn't Broke: Planet killing
Making planet atomization lucrative but dangerous.
I have a love/hate with planets. I like big planets. I dislike how they lag. Planets can be very interesting to explore. They can also be very frustrating to get lost on. Something that's really gotten...
End of this month. Jan 31st.
Everywhere. Affects all NASS services including Discord.
No one cares.
See that plug? We yank that out and POOF.
Not the biggest surprise. Yeah? The extra traffic recently has been nice and I'll miss our regulars...
Something has gone wrong in the recent update. We're still looking into the problem.
However NASSZONE will be hosting an event at the same time so if you attempt to join you'll not be allowed on as the event is whitelist only.
After the event if we can't recover the server we might have to do...
We have the ability to filter objects from radar already (praise the :schema:) but i'd like to have a hotkey to swap between Combat, Mining and Exploration. To make using them worth the time add a slight buff to each mode.
+ indicates what's active. all other filters would be off.
1. Report bugs and crashes to Schema.
2. Move out of spawn. Space is big, get out there!
3. No trolling, raging or spamming of any kind.
4. Don't be a jerk with PVP and faction wars. Fight fairly and give other people a chance to fight with equal footing.
-No spawncamping or...
I want to lend people ships they can't edit. Keep the build mode camera. BUT no disabling turrets or changing thruster profiles or selecting weapons modules/messing with logic. None of that. Just let them fly it, fire the weapons and use the build mode as an easy freelook camera.
My idea was to...
In the coming week North American Sandbox Servers plans to host the first of possibly many attacks of raider stations. A hostile base will be somewhat randomly selected and players will be given the chance to pilot fighters to clear out the contacts in that sector.
Dates and details will...
Some folk might remember I used to interview shipwrights about their build method. I'm in the middle of a commentary series with darknassius which has gone pretty well. So well infact I'm considering opening up interviews on build methods used by anyone building specialized ships. I also thought...
As the list is now it doesn't seem to indicate if a server requires authentication. I'd like to see that added.
Also adding a prompt (when attempting to connect) allowing the user to authenticate then and there would be very convenient.
WARNING: My humor might be hard to follow. Just take this post with a grain of salt and slice of lemon.
TL: DR; Welcome to NASS. I'm altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further.
--Personal Notes from WarSong--
Correction: -MOSTLY- Vanilla config. Don't ask me what we changed. It was...
Closely related to a previous post made : https://starmadedock.net/threads/wireless-logic-to-display-and-hotbar-interaction.21854/
A wireless autolink:
Link a wireless logic block to a single rail dock. The wireless would then be linked to an internal remote. When an entity docks to that...
It would be nice to have the cooldown for a wirelessly linked system to be copied on to the wireless link on the hotbar and have a way to link a display to the same chain to report back the ready state.
Add a check like <missileReady> that displays the type and state of the computer or logic...
The idea needs more fleshing out which I implore my fellow starmates to help with. However I have the basic concept in mind.
Micro vehicles are small vessels that can transport only a few people at a time across terrain. I think they should be produced as meta items you can use to spawn.
This idea has been discussed before by folks like Gamel and PreparationsA-G but I'd like to revisit it with a twist.
We've all thought to ourselves a flash light or some way of casting light on objects would be helpful. While the idea has been around and is even considered something that will...
Welcome to May. We have 4 sets of challenges divided by every week. Feel free to post results here but also make sure the size of the images you link isn't over sized. Image that are too large might be removed.
Week 1: Screenshots!
Fri 1st: [F5 vs F6 vs Print Scr] - And the magic that is Tab-G...
OK everybody! These are the challenges. One every day for the month. Released one a day. So check back here. If you participate please make a shipyard thread with your completed or even WIP productions. Good luck!
There really is no reward. Except maybe some bragging rights. Sorry.
The idea is to add several tabs and a new option to the server list.
The first tab will always be listed servers. The second tab should be dedicated to your favorites. You choose them using a check mark you place on their listing in the other tabs. The third tab should be listed servers online...
This can be a very useful set of info for Intel and Mac users especially. For PC users avoid using the update tool from Intel. It usually grabs the most stable version or the last one that matches your OEM's whitelist. Which ever is worst it seems. Let me start with this one I have...
