      OK downloaded your file and test spawned it. I have zero lag coming from it. SO, that blows my concept of collision lag. could you just have too many of them spawned for your computer to handle?

      the shield supply beams from what I tested the other day require a few things... A. enough power, and B. Enough shields/regen to transfer to the other ship. For some reason they will not generate the shields, but rather only transfer them at a lower percentage. No idea if this is intended or...

      This may sound crazy.... but have you considered making all those "panels" that cover the blue glowy bits, a ship, dock it on a rotator, and make it spin in there? if you make it spin slowly it might add some life to the build.

      not sure if the lag would be too bad. I think it depends on the total size of the docked ships and how many you actually need in order to cover your "core" ship. If the docked ships were large enough I doubt there would be all that much lag.

      Instead of using docked outer generators for your ship. couldn't you design, using rails a way to store said power generator inside the ship? Maybe have large plex doors or something? That way the mothership's shields have to come down completely before it becomes a target.
