      I just realized that if weapons arrays and other controlled devices that are a certain (short) distance from the weapons computer needed to be connected to the computer with Data Cables, it would really add to the epicness of a battle even more, and the need for crewmen and access hallways...

      There IS currently no definition of a ship\'s health, aside from shields... I doubt that the game even adds up total damage points after shields.

      This would actually be great, except for the fact that I really don\'t like the sound of weapons cores for some reason... and cables, though a really nice idea in principle, sound kind of annoying and complicated in practice for people who don\'t really want to have to think about all of that...

      Hmmm, true. The fact that I didn\'t add docking was actually mostly because, with AI being currently unable to return to dock (or pathfind at all, for that matter) I wouldn\'t think to bother with adding that...

      I actually vote no on this... but I believe that there should be some sort of \"trail block\" you can place that creates a little glow in front of it (depends on orientation) which casts a trail behind it, kind of like a colored missile. That said, engine exhaust visuals need (primarily coding)...

      Why use the console to undock fighters? Either have someone in the core room to manage that stuff, slot the docks in your piloting quickbar (which would probably be done from the core menu) or have the core nearby... For some reason consoles for dock blocks sounds a bit overpowered. And the same...

      That would work... Repair beams sound right. It would be a good reason to actually HAVE repair beams, which are currently kind of... slow and pointless.

      Nerf unmultiplieed shields, as in make fighters worthless? If small default-dock-box fighter shields can\'t take a single beefy AMC hit if the fighters look decent, and hulls can barely handle the damage from a squirt gun, isn\'t that kind of counterproductive to both carriers and individuality...

      I agree with all of this... it seems that everyone agrees that cores are too ridiculously centralized, and my topic was a pointless restatement of multiple suggestions already made and agreed upon (besides console blocks, which people don\'t like for some reason.)
