I would not say go after (that would be bad pr) but i wouldn't be suprised if you get banned from the forums and/or he breaks everything you use for modding (he already does the second one)
also it's alpha so you probably need to rewrite your mod every update
I just looked that up, people did actually decompile/deobfuscate the code.
while that isn't impossible doing that to star-made would not end well and be a giant waste of time
basically some VERY dedicated people set up their own API and that's what most people use
In order to make a mod that can actually do anything like that, you need more information about the game code, there are two ways to get that information
1: Ask Schema: chances of succes <10%
2: Deobfuscate the code: chances of succes <10% + it breaks the TOS and all your work can and will be...
Just a heads up, the /teleport_to command has changed(it now teleports the entity you have selected with f, and completely ingores the name you put in)
Also /kill_character crashes the server now so i would not recommend using that
How come? in order to fix smedit you need information about schemas new filesystem, the code is obfuscated so you can't look it up yourself (and if you do manage to you break the tos).
I know people that have asked if they are allowed to fix smedit to no avail.
SMEDIT being fixed is completely dependent on if schema wants it / allows it, so is having a mod that does this.
the ship core represents the center of mass of a ship and i don't see us able to move a ship core on a loaded/rendered ship anytime soon
i can't remember if it was limited by the size of a float(32 bit) or 32bit integer, but it has to do with the fact that he uses 32 bit data types
EDIT: and where are you getting this idea of a "dev-group", schema is the only person that writes code for the game
They build those big ships on singleplayer/small servers where performance is not really an issue.
Sectors should be bigger but that would require some engine reworking, and i think schema was going to focus on other stuff atm
But the individual faces are smaller
i would highly recommand not having stations/planets/ships crossing sectors, doing so causes server instability and can make the ping shoot up and stay at 500/600+
First thing i'd do is not offer 100 slot servers, there is no way, no matter the hardware, you can guarantee 100 slots.
Also disclosing the hardware the servers are actually ran on would be nice
