The flicker was ineffective against swarm missiles and really evilly powered beam weapons. This new version has a MUCH faster shield rotation but no flicker. Makes it harder to see but you can try different force fields (blue or red) which might offer a better window.
As much a POC (proof of concept) as a ship this small vessel is designed to run blockades. Capable of taking a tremendous amount of alpha damage on it's rotating shields before it's vulnerable hull becomes exposed.
The ship is equipped with a UDP (universal docking port) on the front as well...
Too bad, I'd have figured 11%-46% would be significant.

Sadly I don't use Edge for the same reason I don't use Chrome. Oh well, haven't used the Wiki since it changed, I can likely survive it's inaccessibility.
Logic is fun but putting in systems in smaller ships is at best awkward. In larger ships you have to hide tubes and things get weird far too often. To this end I propose an extra dimension, let's call is 'Logic Space'. How it works is in build mode you make a ship normally but when placing...
I have a few ships/bases with a lot of Inner Ship Remote logic. I do love the 10 bars of button pushing and that I can name them.. but.. can I have some icons. Please?
Well, that puts a nail in the coffin of planets discussions.
Thanks Valiant70 o_O
My money is on Torus Worlds (as Valiant explained to me), I'm sure it can be worked out to everyone's satisfaction. I wonder how mineral deposits will be handled.. then again perhaps something like an extractor...
I must be dense today I'm missing the problem we acquire that we do not already have. Even with 1000 sided polygons we have angle changes that make segment joining complicated to bridge, our limitation is voxels have 6 sides and 90 degree angles. There are no poles, a flat map doesn't bunch...
Well it is a game so there is some 'willing suspension of disbelief' required and from a great distance (orbit) small movements will not be easily seen. Basically what you can't see won't hurt your immersion. Should a more complicated mapping on the sphere be used the problem could be...
I'm going to go out on a limb and hope someone doesn't saw it off.
Wraparound Pancake with an FOV effect
What we have here is a perception problem disguised as voxel problem. If we could expand an SM world to it's real size it would be hundred of sectors across and we could bend things slow...
Great idea.
Linking Scanner & Jammers as opposite end of the same stick could let the 'Antenna' block be used by both. Perhaps Shields and Cloak could be the same? In that using your cloak drops your shield (over time) as they hide you, the recharge works as normal while the shield capacitors...
Glad to see you're are back. I just finished a Cargo Hauler using your old 'Cargo Train' engine as the puller (hope you don't mind, tried to find you before and did give your credit). You'll notice the cargo modules have the 'red ends' your original did. I'm currently making a complete system...
I made a suggestion in the game suggestion forum bit perhaps it should be here instead (being it's website related and not really part of the 'game' itself). The original post is here Community Content (pre-rails separation).
What I suggest is a simply flag on uploaded Community Content as to...
Based on a Community Content ship from about 2 years ago (original Cargo Train was by Rumcajz) I found a modular cargo hauler. This re-envisioned and updated ship probably doesn't have an original block but I believe it kept the original vision. A modular cargo system.
This beauty is a...
A few other thread on tracking beacons but all from last summer, so rather and re-animating a corpse.. here we go again:
Use the scanner to 'target' an ship, it fires a missile like object and if it hits that ship is locatable for a duration in proportion to the size of the scanner array. If...
Build a probe ship (fast charging jump drives, jammer and a massive scanner) and start probing. If it finds something you can pop over and what it is. Sadly we cannot YET put on a homing beacon on another's ship.
