The regular light block is in the Standard (not Basic) Factory.. just my problem finding it.
Not sure if the helmet glitch fixed in the update to the update.
Version 0.174
The Basic Factory doesn't list Lighting Blocks (rods are there however)
Also seems to be a helmet oddity with it removing and replacing helmet when slot selected or sometimes even scrolled past.
I'd be fine with making a custom 'fork' of my station. I think most of the designers would be happy to tweak the winning stations into line for the sake of balance etc. I'm sure the staff is busy enough let alone retro-fitting 15 stations.
Oddly enough I just plunked away and eventually it worked. Tried in IE & Chrome so I'm fairly sure it wasn't the browser and the internet connect worked for FTP etc., so the connection was good. Perhaps the server was having a moment.
The interior is greatly enhanced with many new features, logic and design unification. Among the new things you'll see are:
Cargo Loaders (robots on various cargo levels)
Upper hangers are defined as 'refit' docking ports
Lower hangers are defined as 'cargo' areas
Control booths and logic...
On visiting many stations I notice that most are missing their turrets. Is this by design or was there a problem? It's a fresh install and I don't see any drifting about so I can only imagine the sector import itself was missing the turrets.
Sphere-201 has only 1 of it's 16 turrets (guess the others 'fell off'). The latest version in the downloads has more interior finishing etc. If a fully functional version is used I'd be really careful getting into it's range.
Even as simple as disassembling the ship and selling to the nearby shop at default rate (should only be done at a shop). Anything over shop stock limit could be destroyed (not put into shop inventory) and paid 1/2 rate if it has the credits. I could be as simple as you press SELL and the shop...
Leave the bases invulnerable but make them use 'fuel' to keep powered. Something that has to be topped up and maintained not left and forgotten. The more stuff there (drawing power or docked) the greater the fuel consumption.
When the fuel runs out have it become less invulnerable over time...
I really like this idea. It give cargo moving a reason to exist. I have a few refinements to offer/consider:
Use Plex Storage as the 'interface' to a cargo area, same way we link a computer to the modules in a weapon. You put things into it via the plex storage box but the contents 'occupy'...
Seems everyone is worrying about Griefers, which is a factor to consider, but when it becomes a primary concern that denotes an entirely different problem. Docked Ships/Stations could easily remain invulnerable which will limit misuse to some degree and ships left floating in space are already...
Your available shields are one thing, how fast they recharge is controlled by another block (you need both types to be effective).
Not sure about the power, I've ignored it and stuck with the 'old' way.
It's a good server, been playing there for many months. If any of you follow the ships I put in Community Content you'll see many of the earlier models on GenXNova months before they are publically available.
