I like the idea of this, even though I didn't read all specific features, the overall idea is awesome. I hope they draw inspiration from this when thinking about how to make starsystems have more uses.

If you're into 40k, most of our players enjoy a good RP. Although because of the chat in Starmade right now, server-wide RP isn't really possible/practical because all messages you send get sent to the public.

I'm not so sure about that. Afaik the process of applying a Skin to a player can be entirely client-based, because right now your client is downloading skins of other players. But let's say that it does cost resources to the server and that the player (in the worst case) would have to restart...

I agree. Another reason I think this is a good idea is because constructing a bunch of "cables" and pasting some hull on each side isn't really a good first impression. Would be nice to show the players the potential of the blocks Starmade offers you.
