      That is amazing. I don't think gas giants need to neccesarily be more than one sector across, because as it is, planets usually take up way less than one sector of space, so if a gas giant took up one ENTIRE sector, it would be enough to make it look distinctively bigger.

      Mine happened on Shattered Skies server... I settled on a grass planet, where I was going to build a base. There was a pirate station in a nearby sector, but I ignored it sice I settled in a neighbourhood of a pirate station before witout any problems. So, I build a Bumblebee, then a freighter...

      IDK.... I think we should simply have solar panels that produce energy dependant on the distance to the sun... That way, dyson spheres would be viable and less complicated. And when it's complcated, as Megacrafter127 said, it's likely to get laggy.

      We could have food as a simple trading item, not an actual consumable. I just like the idea of having space farms, but I don't want to be distracted from more important things like building by micromanaging such things as food.

      I think that collision damage shouldn't ignore shields. While I do agree that it might discourage people from flying safe and not colliding (if they do, the shields would simply regenerate) it makes ships vulnerable to griefing.
