      unfortunately high server speed is just as cancerous to stable combat as low sector size, so the compromise is sectors actually feel large (which i personally like) and use jumps to travel beyond local range

      engineering and build/manufacture time are good reasons to stick to 3k. the biggest argument i can see for bumping it up is because 5k and 10k give a lot more creative freedom for weapon configs and such and can better provide options to feel like youre flying a "frigate" or some such...

      yeh it eats bad ships but strong ships have the same effect on it as it does on new people. the level dmg scales compared to everything else is insane, and people think guns are too weak rofl

      i dont want you to force me to build a fake ship interior with a 2nd ship interior buried somewhere to house the crew to get performance bonuses, just because my particular aesthetic style doesnt match up with what youve decided it should look like. this is hypothetical, but the thought exists.

      i like the idea, but i think 3k is a bit extreme on the small end. 5k or 10k seem like more evenly rounded numbers and open up some design choices.

      i REALLY want to agree that limits are bad... but i have absolutely 0 faith in the games ability (now or with future optimization) to properly render and handle functioning massive builds. i think hard limits are a detriment to creativity. i also think its totally unrealistic to think the game...

      as much as i dont like seeing hard limits to sandbox creativity, i think this is by far the most reasonable approach. i also think these limits, while configurable, should be turned on to some averaged out numbers by default, with exception to sector locking.
