Yeah, my builds always wind up a lot bigger than I intend too lol. It's a good look, and a good start of you're planning on putting more detail in. If it's a PvP ship, then ill just go ahead and just keep my mouth shut. Er, or fingers away from my keyboard...whatever. lol

I like the look of those turrets, but overall the design is a bit....plain. I can tell you're going for a ww2 battleship style design, which to be honest is probably one of my favorite styles lol. Of course, I have no idea if this is a PvP build, in which case how it looks doesn't matter...

In the past, I've saved blueprints successfully before getting out of my sp game, only to find when logging back in that all my changes had reverted. the blueprint I had saved however, was correct, so I would transfer to a newly spawned copy. this odd behavior could be related, perhaps?

Totally agree. Starmade has several things going on. it would be nice to spar with someone for fun, without having to go and repair everything afterwards. of course, ppl being a-holes, what's to stop a sore loser (or sore winner!) from attacking for real?

I like this idea...while I do enjoy starmade's combat, it is a bit brute force-centric, WHICH IS FINE! but adding this level of depth would really bump it up quite a lot

This happens IRL as well. Today's destroyers are bigger than heavy cruisers years ago, and the cruisers are larger than a lot of battleships. as tech progresses, and we add capabilities to ships, they just get bigger.

Also: multiple ships painting the same target means the target has to fend off more ships to break the lock. Maybe painting the target guides the missiles to that specific area of the target? several ships all painting different areas of the target splits up the missiles launched to hit those...

Although, the way it's being suggested, you'd have a small fighter or similar sized vessel close up and painting you, able to dodge and maneuver. the real threat would be from whomever you're being painted for. Of course, I'd just purpose build these ships to be small, fast, and stealthy...

Hell, why not enable your own missiles to come back at you as well? that would better balance the risk/reward for ppl who are all by their lonesome.
