Honestly I find that having solid means isn't that much different in terms of effectiveness than having a single waffled beam, so I usually stick to the single waffle array going horizontally.
1) The copy you can buy and the free copy are exactly the same. Only thing buying it now will get you is a shiny forum badge, the knowledge you helped fund development, and not having to buy it again at a much higher price when it eventually launches for real.
2) Its a lot like Minecraft in...
Oh I agree, just pointing out we technically do run already.
Some kind of jet boost where you go much faster but only in a straight line or something like that would be nice. Just a "I'm at the wrong end of my 500m long ship, the door is a quarter of the way to the next sector!" kind of speed...
Thats just it, this was something new that I've been working on in SP that I started after it started.
There shouldn't even have been anything left in the sector, as I had spawned in a ship from a blueprint and ended up using /destroy_entity on it (forgot _dock so I had to then kill the...
In my experience so far, Cake is pretty stable, yes. Occasionally you'll get a lag spike, but thats usually because a player did something stupid like accidentally dropped a 100x100x100 cube of blocks or undocked something big in too small of a space.
Yeah, this is on a carrier with at least two dozen drones and almost as many again turrets. I think I need to stay away from any more docked entities if I can help it.
Yeah, I usually buy the bits to build a turret with my starting credits and pick a planet with a pirate base right next to it. Pirates always come check me out, my defense turret shoots them down, I go salvage the wrecks.
Yeah, I just went back to one of my single player creative build games since a bug is keeping me off Cake currently. Didn't think about them being active until I logged in and suddenly my ship was spinning away like a pinwheel of death.
You didn't actually read the post, did you? Because I stated right at the start that this is exactly what I did.
But we have commands for just about everything else to make doing things easier. Teleports and money grants and everything else. This is just another quick command to make life...
So long story short, I need a timer for about 25 seconds.
My two options are 50 delay blocks in a daisy chain, or I can use flip flops and a clock pulse to create a 5 bit register and the logic to read the register for a state of 11001 (25 in binary). Or I could just increase the delay length...
Good luck with that thing. If just the bridge is that big, if you ever manage to finish it you might just plain crash the game the instant you undock it.
I'm working on a ship currently that has ended up being larger than the workspace I had available for it and I'm needing to move it out a short distance. Thing is, I'm looking at 4-5k mass of just hull at the moment, and I haven't reached the area of the ship I want the thrusters to actually go...
So is there an admin command to provide the ability to move a ship around without thrusters?
Specifically I'm building a medium sized ship and I need to move it, and I really don't want to add enough thrusters temporarily just to make it move (because thats a lot of temporary thrusters). I...
