Seriously though, something like that would be amazing. We already have some very nice looking textures in-game and every star you can see as a tiny dot you can travel too (pretty cool how they show up like that).
I would love a fast-travel device like that, with the current jump-drive being a...
Various scenes from Space Battleship Yamato/Starblazers (same thing).
One of this first in the Space Opera genre that was originally aired about 1980. The series was rebooted with Yamato resurrection in 2009,
THEN a live action movie
Followed by a 26 Episode anime (Yamato 2199)
in (2014 I...
Combining Wave-Motion and Gamilas technology:? That could be dangerous.......
That actualy gives me an idea XD A type of warp drive that requires you to be traveling equal to or greater than a certian velocity to initiate.
That would require ships to get up to speed and could involve some...
I would do that, however all severs Ive played on do have station size limits (my current one above is nearly 1000x1000x1000 and expanding it beyond that causes a lot of lag.)
The whole station would essentially need to be the shipyard, however then it would need to be a separate station and...
I would like to suggest that more ways of building shipyards are implemented.
Currently you CAN built some nice looking ships yards, but to construct a decently sized ship you need the shipyard to be much bigger than it. Thus stations just end up with huge monstrositys of grey arms all over the...
As have a lot of severs :/ Starmade lacks really any goal other than building awesome ships, I dont think disabling shields would really do much anyway as high alpha weapons can take them down very quickly
Direct Fire Flame cannon or something:? Wave-motion gun:?
Depends on what you are looking for.
One good option for absolutly ahnihiltating ships is wireless grouped weaponary, it does require you to aim the whole ship at the target, or aim the seperate component with the weapon array at the...
Being able to scout out a base from cloak is pretty nice though :3
I would be a big fan of giving them in-built jump inhibitors based on/related (say power output:?) so large ships can't just warp out immediately if things don't go their way
As suggested above, it take some time, but create a new core and copy sections of your ship, rotate then paste.
Itd be an absolute pain to get them lined up and everything hooked up but itd work.
What about implementing an additional form of FTL travel called wormhole generators, like in stellaris:
Empires with access to wormhole technology can create sophisticated wormhole stations that reside in sectors. In contrast to other methods, wormholes create a temporary but direct connection...
Power cost would be exponential as distance increases, however power storage blocks are very easy to produce.
Spamming a few million of them wouldn't take a lot of resources
I agree there should be additional costs, not sure what they could be though
Maybe download a previous version of starmade (you can download older versions) and use that with smedit to build your ship, then upgrade to the latest one:?
I really like the alternate suggestion +1
Also:
This has been a major irk for quite a while.
If I want to make a cool looking battleship for example I can.
But to then get all the turrets firing I need to do a boradsied, which means I can no longer fire or lock on with any of the weaponry on...
So we have 2 sides here:
The "I think this is a mechanic that should be changed"
and
The "Change it over my dead body"
If we had more weapon options then I dont think this would be such a big issue.
Also making shotguns and pulses actually worth using would be great imo.
You get some scarp, and you get some scarp. Everybody gets some scarp!!
Itd be nice to see this reworked a bit.
Just having everything made out of scarp means players will avoid them, your far better off mining then salvaging stations.
I miss the days in which you could make a suicide run at a...
