But I think the size of those aliens would make them look kind of ridiculous on Starmade\'s planets. I get what you mean, though. Maybe you\'re right, something Alien-sized would be okay. I now realize that given the planets we have, and the somewhat clumsy player controls, aiming for a...

      Plans for an actual economy?

People just play it that way. There\'s no reason it can\'t be played purely cooperatively. One could start up a server with really strong pirates and put all the players in one big faction; then it\'s entirely PvE. More to the point, it\'s an odd feature of internet culture (and, perhaps...

GIve Planets More of a Purpose.

Not only for beaming yourself to and from planets, but also if you wanted to collect other entities (when we get them).

      AI in game coding

just consistently. That being said, the OP is hopefully capable of cleaning up this suggestion a bit, no? As it is, it\'s almost unreadable. Some kind of very simple scripting language with straightforward syntax rules wouldn\'t be a bad idea. For non-coders, there could either be a)built...

      Reaction Control System

would be to make manuvering thrusters provide less thrust than forward thrusters. Then every bit of mass would count even more, to the point where for a large ship to manuver like a fighter it would have to be mostly manuvering thrusters.

I am going to build Gurren Lagann. Row, row, fight the powah! But, that might be getting ahead of things, I think. I rather like the idea of walking around on a planet being a bit like Metroid, where you have some technological weapons (your pistol, at the moment, though better weapons would...

To Devs - Stuff I Like

that this game is going to take a different direction than Space Engineer. Just looking at the announcement about the creature system being worked on, it would seem that it\'s becoming about more than just ship combat. Personally, I\'d rather play an open-ended space game where you can more...

Just kidding. Not promising you won\'t run into something just as terrifying eventually, though. It might even be accidental. Part of the problem with something that generates itself; it might do something you didn\'t mean to happen. Actually, I specifically hope we accidentally release some...

My take on a new AMC system

Alpha strike vs. sustained dps is a pretty good balancing mechanism, IMO. Works in Planetside 2.

Replicators... I do quite like the sound of Zerg-inspired creatures. Though with that, you could also draw a little inspiration from Metroid\'s creature designs, particularly the more insectoid ones in the Prime series... (in links due to size)...

I love me some rock monsters.

      Creatures

Some kind of mechanism for capturing and keeping creatures in captivity. I wouldn\'t mind starting up a zoo of sorts...

Idiotic updates, and logical fixes to common problems

A gram of antimatter exposed to a gram of matter would release about 900 gigajoules of energy. By comparison, a hydrogen bomb releases 41,840,000 gigajoules of energy. Don\'t get me wrong, it\'s still a lot, but it\'s not nearly enough to destroy a planet.

This game needs a concept similar to REDSTONE. User made contraptions.

It\'s not Minecraft and should not aspire to be like it. I think people just draw comparisons because it\'s easy for them to do so. And yes, I\'m guilty of making comparisons, though IIRC I haven\'t suggested anything explicitly like Minecraft... As for the topic at hand, redstone-style...

Idiotic updates, and logical fixes to common problems

I think AMCs should be the go-to weapon for breaking shields, but missiles should be better at dealing with the hulls. Also, hulls should be buffed a little, and I wouldn\'t mind if shields grew logrithmically...

      Creatures

Well, new/unusual creatures aren\'t necessarily a bad thing. They\'d give the game a more unique character. Look at what creepers did for Minecraft. Some random thoughts: Some kind of giant organism made of blocks that spawns hostile creature eggs, like a living hive. It would be really...

      Nerf Pirates

Turrets on my ship don\'t even do anything. The AI is on and all, but I can\'t see them firing. Am I doing something wrong? Edit: Alright, so I was playing today (first time with the new update) and came across a small city on a planet. Cool, right? So I went to check it out, and got the...

The Bundle - Design, Weapons, Armors, Block positioning, AI, etc

A good way to stop the core drilling issue would be to incentivize destroying the rest of the ship. Maybe add some kind of \"core shield\" block that acted as a second, stronger shield for just the core? By the time the attacker is at the point where they can hit the core, they should have...

      [Weapon Idea] : Plasma Beam

was a Metroid-style piercing beam weapon. Something that worked a bit like the Antimatter Cannons, but instead of hitting a single block and destroying it, it would pass through several blocks and damage them all a little bit. Such a weapon would be quite useful if hull blocks were made a bit...
