Star Wars Legends Ship Replicas [Over-Scale and 1:1]

Zyphex E-Wing Added to the OP, should be up for download soon. [/SPOILER] Basalisk War Droid Kotor II Ver. removed from OP. I just lost interest, there's other ships I'd rather spend my time on, and I have about half a dozen more in my mind along with the remaining ships in my planned build and...

      Massive Circles.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. The GIMP method sounds like the quickest, so I think I'll employ that in the future.

      Massive Circles.

Alright, so I'm sure a lot of you have had to make circles or cylinders at some point in your creations. I've used plotz for smaller circles, since plotz will only support up to a diameter of 256. I use this site for anything larger, since it supports diameters up to 2000, but it's really...

      buy or download?

Game is free right now, but in the future it's going to be paid. Buying now is like a pre order, at a discount.

      Plasma Weapon?

Got to agree. Plasma cannon type weapons vary from series to series anyway, the bolt type like star wars, burst laser kind like Metroid and Gundam... All can be replicated with the new system. Slap on a red light and whatever secondary effect effects adjacent blocks with distributed damage and...

      Weapons Demonstration: News and Discussion

Seconding this. Push is already similar enough to the proposed Explosion effect. Plus, it just fits better in my opinion and a good amount of people have suggested the self destruct button. Give it a reasonable countdown or a way to program the time to detonation (maybe with logic blocks?).

A Suggestion about mechas land vehicles, robots and armor

Same with quadrupeds though. I say either validate both or none at all because legs are a huge weakness for machines no matter the number. If we're going to talk fictional and in terms of Star Made though, two legs have an advantage over four in that if you can get the balance for them working...

A Suggestion about mechas land vehicles, robots and armor

Same way a quadruped does. They don't. They get immobilized and killed by the bigger mecha or foot soldiers with RPGs. You can't really apply strict real life rules to mecha because the only place mecha would have in a real life scenario is either- a) in space, as legs don't matter regardless...

      [WIP] Station CIty

This could be interesting. I'm surprised you went through the trouble of stripping the entire planet instead of just finding the center of an empty sector and making a station there. But hey, to each their own. You might want to capitalize on all the space opposite of the top disk and make...

[Discussion] Tired of hearing "soon"? Thoughts on the Q&A

Why don't the dev builds count? You want features and updates to be rushed out faster, you should be able to accept the bugs that come out with it then. We had to wait a long long time for the last update, but we got a massive amount of bug fixes. I expect the same for the next update also...

      Reason for having an interior

If a system rewards players for doing something and does nothing for those who don't, they will naturally gravitate towards the former. Competitive players will always optimize their creations and do the bare minimum of what they must do to gain what they want. Min-Maxing is prevalent all around...

      star wars shipyard by El_Poulpy

You just have to play with it and see what works best. Start from the highest and go progressively lower. If it crashes, it crashes. I use a graphics card from late 2010 (GTX 460 SE), and I max segments and the procedural background res no problem.

      Reason for having an interior

Yeah, I'll agree. I mostly build with aesthetics in mind, but choose one or the other. Tanks, submarines, and other military machines in real life are cramped, hot, and barebones death traps. Optimized for function not comfort. A good builder can work around the system anyway and leave a little...

      star wars shipyard by El_Poulpy

That's pretty sweet. I was actually looking at some of the Star Wars Gamer magazines last night and saw the YT 2000. 2:1 is the sweetspot scale imo for reproductions in Star Made for smaller ships. I don't know why but it just feels right when working with voxels. Is that a Providence Class in...

Star Wars Legends Ship Replicas [Over-Scale and 1:1]

RoosterTheRed Hound's Tooth added to the OP, as per request. I'm very proud of this ship, and think I nailed the overall look. As described in the New Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels and mapped in Star Wars Gamer #7, I retained the 3 deck style illustrated. All in 1:1 scale, 62m...

A few changes, FAR easier than my original suggestion.

Oh my god yes, I've wanted the player model to stay in place at point of entry for a long long time. It almost feels like a ship is piloting itself sometimes when you "enter" a core. The only draw back here is everybody will target the obvious looking bridges (though to be fair, exposed bridges...

      Let's Talk Optimization.

This. Don't get me wrong OP, we can talk about this all we want. But without having the code ourselves, we might think we know how SM works, but we don't. A couple of things people said, like asteroids being a significant source of lag were proven to be untrue when Schema said otherwise. We...

      Planetary environments

Now this would be cool. Ammonia based atmospheres are probably something possible too, for a corrosive type of planet.

      Planetary environments

Yep, most worlds are completely lifeless. Many exoplanets are theorized to be rocky and inexplicably hot or cold compared to Earth. I don't expect all of Star Made's planets to have life on them either. Not saying that the desert or ice planets need to be devoid of life though. Life could come...
