      I am, honestly, not surprised NuclearFun has found a thread named "turret porn". Master of turrets, you! Especially the vertical launch missile ones, I have never built a forward-firing missile turret ever again after witnessing how they not only evade PD better but also look stunning when launched.

      My impulse drive :D Note that due to using weapon effects instead of lights, the animation is NOT limited to the close neighbourhood of the ship, and since the pulses will "stay in place" when the ship moves, the engine leaves a pulse trail!

      Yeah, that would be a little overkill in a game with a 1m^3 block resolution (and indeed even worse for the poor GPU). Just saying that there is no technical reason we can't have solid weapon effects that have the visual punch worthy of their damage.

      Agree; I think to make starmade combat feel as epic as starmade building, we need 1) exactly this (better yet: make weapon effects volumetric instead of billboarded tic-tacs) and 2) weapon computers giving a logic output when being fired, so they can be linked to fancy door/light animations on...

      Assuming you have a 3x3x3 tube, this works everytime without fail, although you do need 9 trigger blocks per turn and you should cut back on wedges.
