A hint of advice, your power generation is inefficient :) Go for long lines or crosses, to maximize the bounding box of each connected group, while having as much air in the box as possible.
Welcome new members of the drone club! :D
It is true turrets are more scary now. Yet our options have indeed become more numerous with turreted drones. keptick maybe the oblivion drone with both turrets swapped for AMC would be a nice starting point for anti-missile drone tech :)
There are alot of similar suggestions questorhank :)
This one here keeps it very simple though: all that matters is ship mass.
I wonder if it would be easier computation-wise if additionally to block armor, every entity would have a global "armor bonus" value, that is used together with block...
ltmauve exactly, that is almost how I imagine shipyards:
- Have a sufficiently large dock (just a normal shipdock with docking enhancers)
- link a "blueprint reader" block to it (that has an 1-slot inventory)
- link one or multiple storages to the blueprint reader block
- send a logic signal to...
- More shields
- More powerful missile turrets
- Far more thrust
- Weapons adjustments
- Slightly longer
- Far simpler blueprint block choice. Filling in the metaitem is easier than it would have been with earlier revisions. No advanced armor on default blueprint - replace-filter all black...
Lancake what I mean was: first the armor value of the block is determined, e.g. say advanced armor with 74% armor due to mass. Then, for example, the remaining 26% would profit from block hardening effects. If maximum block hardening was a factor of 0.5, then the 26% would get reduced to 13%...
Yup, the number has to be small. It would maybe even be better if defensive block hardening didn't have an additive armor bonus, but rather multiplied damage with a value between, lets say 1.0 (no effect) up to 0.25 (max effect) or something.
Otherwise, because of the +30% from defensive effect...
You even nearly satisfied my OCD, I only see 2700 and 2361 :D
Does the server stop for 3 seconds on impact though? :p
Looks like cannon/missile/explosive (punch wouldn't leave half damaged blocks in the first layer).
Hey everyone,
a foreword, please first read the entire post, as this suggestion has a high chance of being misunderstood :) The actual suggestion is at the bottom, I'll first explain why.
I will start of with two example ships. One ship is a 2x2x2 systems cube, lets call it A. Then we have a...
Yup, that I think is a huge point Megacrafter127
The part of the game mechanics you cannot avoid must be "bearable" enough for a single player over the timespan of 1+ years, especially now that this is hitting steam. The current BP system as-is has a very steeply falling "amazeness" curve. It is...
Switching around blocks would still be one major annoyance. +1 to the OP, I want the following to be possible:
- Buy every of the five block shapes with every other (e.g. be able to buy a penta with a solid).
- Blank deco blocks are a very good idea indeed. They should apply to everything that...
If you are talking HUGE mothership (as in, so large that enemies take a long time to fly around it), you could enhance the whole idea by making it possible to let the mothership (which should still have more capacity than the plates) use shield supply beams "on demand" to regenerate the one...
Currently the main weakness would be that the individual parts (ship and plates) would have lower shield totals, so you would be very vulnerable to any type of missile. Could be tested in combination with lots of point defense though.
This deserves a push for relevance reasons.
Don't punish design, please. The entire game mechanics already do, there is no need to further discourage building a decent hull compared to making a grey advanced armor brick.
SchnellBier there is the friction, I think. I do not think awesome looking ships should be harder to produce except for the design work.
By putting in three months to design a large and nice looking ship, you have done tons of overhead work just for the sake of a more pleasant appearance. I...
