      Corner orientation

It has been suggested several times before, but don\'t worry, it\'s common. This is not a bug, I belive it\'s because the corners use the same orientation patterns as the wedges, for which there are less variations. Along with inverse and tri-corners, I\'m not certain why this hasn\'t been...

      no shadows in build mode

Agreed. Schema, give us shadow toggling. And xxmrdxx, put that in the topic starter post so that schema can see it more easily.

      Community Challenge #1 (8/19/13-8/25/13)

Well, so much for this. Should we just let it be until we get some participation or come up with somethng simpler?

a compass would make navigation better

Well, neither are there flat planets. Where there are coordinates, there is up and down. Maybe only on a virtual axis, but on an axis all the same.

Fix Navigating to coordinates to be a STRAIGHT LINE!

Not that I disapprove of those ideas, but straight-line navigation should be part of the basic functionality, anything else would be ridiculous.

      Auto repair

Yes, the size limit is a given. For simplicity\'s sake, however, drydocks should probably be required to be cuboids. How about a drydock is composed of two blocks, the core/controller and a three-dimensional frame of drydock enhancers. For mid-combat repairs, there should be the ability to...

      Weekly challenges- community driven

Great. Could you Pm me those ideas of which you speak?

      Auto repair

Nah, the template memory should be a built-in function of the core. I find the ability to permanently disable repairs on a ship a rather pointless and annoying feature, and quite against the very concept of automatic repairs.

      Weekly challenges- community driven

Well, why would the community need authority to organize a competative event? Remember, I\'m not trying to \"take over\" the old event, just organize something identical in the meantime. It\'s nothing official, nor does it claim to be. That aside, would you support this?

Agreed! Schema, give us straight lines!

Agreed, what happened to the mods that closed these threads and locked them away?

      Auto repair

Yes, ships carrying their own templates sounds quite reasonable, as long as you can still insert other ones in the dock manually. Putting them on ships does too, since they\'d anyway have to be larger than the ships they repair. As for linking them to the regular docking system, I kind of agree...

      Auto repair

That is pretty much what would happen. Personally, I think structure primarily responsible for auto-repairs should be drydocks. Structures with one core block and a frame of enhancers, whose core purpose is restoring ships to a submitted template using recources from liknked storages. During...

      Weekly challenges- community driven

Seing that the original weekly challenge system died for unnknown reasons, but considering the idea desireable, I decided to try and put it in the hands of the community. I belive it would work best as follows: Every week two treads will be created- the weekly challenge and the "upcoming...

A way to move the ship core without destroying and rebuilding the entire ship..

Well, you might have to make major plan changes as well, or you discover a design flaw that wasn\'t noticable until you had the finished thing in front of you, or you simply chagned your mind, etc. I understand your point, but this feature is most certainly needed.

A way to move the ship core without destroying and rebuilding the entire ship..

That kind of system would go against just about every line of the code for ship physics. It\'s not going to happen, ever.

A way to move the ship core without destroying and rebuilding the entire ship..

I do. Was that a reply to how I said it would be easier to implement a place-transfer-remove system than a direct move based one? In that case, Exectly.

      Warp Gates? Worm Holes :-)

It\'s just that I\'m getting annoyed with how every last single idea is suggested about once or in bad cases twice a day. They may not be copy-pastes, but few of them add anything relevant to the concept. And posting in these threads only makes it worse.
