      Um, but then you have to give up on whatever detail you create, it would probably look weird with a ship docked to it, and if you need a station with functional capability, you have to make it take up a much larger space. Yes, you could make a much larger station, but would it be as good? No.

      Yeah, this wouldn't really work. Since many of us also build stations for practical purpose (i.e. they need systems in them) this actually makes things worse, as you need to take up more of a sector to do that. More collisions, less ability to make details in the interior, and it'll look weird...

      Yeah, hopefully fully-customizable binding for controls will come out soon. Perhaps with the new UI. There are a bunch of other commands that don't have a keybind option, they should probably get added at some point.

      Not bad at all. You probably want to completely shell over the systems in the top/bottom of the wings. A;so. don't neglect the underside of the ship. Also, you may want to use crystals for your thrusters instead of lights, since the crystals don't have frames. Also, some advise for pictures...

      Progress report, guys! I've finished the tail section, and redone the hallways, and almost completely rebuilt the central pod. That and the inner wings are the only things I think I still need to do. (I think the front inner wings are fine as just plain grey armor)

      What may be more useful is a way of telling what is connected to other controllers in general (so a different color highlight wireframe) and this would also be useful for weapons and whatnot.

      Nice. As creeper said, it's broken up, and it's not painfully boxy. I look forward to more ships. p.s. if you hit tab+G before making a screenshot it will remove the docking and build boxes. Also, it'll let you frame the shot better.

      Yes, but you have to calculate which blocks are visible to the sun anyway, in order to determine the effectiveness of heat armor. You just count up each block and how much armor it is that is visible to the sun, and then determine the distance that the center of the ship is from the sun. We...

      Having sun damaged based on mass doesn't make sense. The sun should work by doing damage only to whatever it can, dependant on the range. That way, the position of the armor does matter. As for how heat damage translates into actual damage, once your heat sinks are full, any heat damage you take...

      Well, you'd have to be nearby for the sectors to be loaded. I'd imagine a bunch of lock-on missiles on the carrier would be nice for damaging anything that tries to get close to the drones.

      Assuming it's by entity, we can have a working system by only having heat damage do actual damage when the HS are full.

      YES all of this. Different GUIs for different ships and all. I want my mothership to have a different GUI than my fighters. DIfferent GUIs for everything.

      Or have a system that gives new players different items and lets them spawn in different places depending on a list (So an RP server can let people choose between different factions when they join)
