      Missing kind of Wedges

Defining by edge: two orientation per edge. 12 edges by 2 is 24 orientations. Yes, you multiply by 2 because you cut it in half, but then divide by 2 because the faces on the planes of the cube aren't distiguishable anymore.

Read by Schine [Make Decorative Block Usable] Scaffolding = Ladder

Eh? The gravity blocks work just fine on planets. In fact, it's common practice to have an upside-down gravity block for escaping a planet without a ship.

Aesthetic Docking System and Docking Gears

Um, all of this is a bit much. What if I want to have a decorative panel armor panel with the thruster texture? I'd say that simply put, the decorative ship shouldn't have any of it's own stats, no active AI or usable weapons, or power, or its own shields. It also shouldn't show up in nav.

Indeed. To the suggestions forum, anyone?

Pipes that transfer fluids and gases

Even so, the system right now has the c-v connection system, which suggests we won't get that in the future, for any system. And while in one sense that's a shame in another it does make things easier.

      Ltmauve's shielding suggestion

Those are valid points against this. Leric's point, I think I know how to fix it. Not so with Krazy's point. That's probably a sinker. I'm sorry, how is replacing "shield capacitor" with "bubble capacitor" a majorly difficult change that requires rebuilding an entire ship? I suppose I...

      Ltmauve's shielding suggestion

I don't know about the exact reason for why the bubble shields were originally taken out of the game, but I believe that the shields were not blocks. If someone from around that time wants to tell us, please do. Anyway, using a sphere/ellipsoid wouldn't allow for customizability at all. Bubble...

      Ltmauve's shielding suggestion

Yeah, I know. But the weapons system made all the ships require a new update. And smaller ships will barely notice any difference. Let me see, because trying to have a non-block based surface with a large number of collisions really drops performance? hence the "bubble blocks" Because defining...

      Ltmauve's shielding suggestion

So, because we don't have enough of these around here, I've got another one. Take a shot if you drink. BUBBLES =D First, we add "bubble shields" that only affect a transparent block. Ships will be able to pass through, but not attacks while the shields are up. Their power costs are similar to...

Comro's Combat Suggestarinos (not a manifesto)

But that actually seems harder to do than the faces, because the projectile is striking the faces when calcuating the shields. To calculate the shields based on hitboxes would be pretty glitchy, I feel. I know Calbiri has mentioned wanting to do seperate shield pools on a ship (For distributing...

Comro's Combat Suggestarinos (not a manifesto)

I suppose so. I was considering that damage reduction could help against high-alpha attacks, but then realized that there's no way to see them coming. Anyway, rather than track the bounding box entry of the projectile, perhaps we could use the angle of the face that gets hit determines which...

Current Weapon Balance: Shields vs Hull

It does not. Does anyone else think that armor should be division, not percentage, which would mean it can scale much further.

calvireain industries, ships that will blow your competition away.

So, you can recruit RAM now? And people won't want to help you unless you prove that you are capable of pulling your own weight. I'd start off with a few much smaller ships, then show off with a ship that's 300-500m long.

calvireain industries, ships that will blow your competition away.

Erm, how much RAM do you have? Because those are some pretty impressive stats. I ran into some problems with a base only 5km across that I eventually scrapped because symmetry wasn't working. Also, do you know how much time that's going to take to make, and make it look good? Answer: Several...

Comro's Combat Suggestarinos (not a manifesto)

Woops. Ion effect protects the entire ship. CyberTao's suggestion would protect one part of the ship at the expense of another (though he already said that) And AI tends to circle around an enemy, so a drone swarm will surround the enemy, preventing them from beefing up one shield facing. Or...

Comro's Combat Suggestarinos (not a manifesto)

No it wouldn't. You're forgetting about drone swarms, which surround the target.
