      Plead to developers.

I think it's pretty obvious to most frequent players that at the very least, since December 2016 the number of active players on multi-player has collapsed. And as I've said before, it does matter because without players there won't be servers, and without servers it will be very hard to get the...

      Mobs

Oh wow, I never knew this. Now I feel sad for all the space-spiders I killed. I'll have to make a collecting jar and go hunting for the last of their kind on the server - if they're not extinct already.

      Stealing Npc Ships

Cool as enclosed hangers look, don't they create lag - especially if housing larger ships?

      Stealing Npc Ships

I feel a bit dirty saying this, but... :cautious: Logic controlled beam weapon on a factionless entity, target their faction block. Don't be on the ship when you activate the logic to fire the weapon. Or warheads. I totally have never done that and do not endorse this behaviour.

      Plead to developers.

I had a similar experience on Sun-World. There were numerous custom stations in the spawn system, plus giant warp gates and things like that the admins have placed around the universe. Plus they had custom NPC factions before the NPC update. How alive a universe feels is more up to how much the...

You and 95% of players I think ;) In fact, it's all the more reason for Shine to make sure they get that right. If they have to redo it again it's going to be even more terrible for the online-player-community than it already is.

How do you feel about starmade?

I know everyone gets really board when the devs do dull stuff like improve game performance and fixing bugs instead of adding new features, but I actually like that. I've played early access games where all the devs did was add new features all the time, and all that happens is the game becomes...

I agree also that it's not a good idea to restrict build-mode features to shipyards. That might work for single player, but the realities of multiplayer can be rather different. For example: On Sun-World, space stations are restricted to 1km across. Our faction has 14 members. If everyone was...

In From the Depths myself and everyone I knew playing used the keyboard build mode, as it was way faster than building with a mouse. So orientation issues were never a problem, as in keyboard build mode you could still change the camera angle with your mouse to see whatever, but your active...

I don't know if I would go that far. The 'exploded view' possible in another block building game is super, super useful - It's one thing I've really missed when playing StarMade - but oh, the performance hit. With as many blocks as people build with in this game, it's probably not practical, as...

      Icarus Project - Mission Log

Glad you like them Thadius, but for now at least Armide is keeping the blueprint to the faction. We already had an offer from the faction "Space Ratten" to buy the blueprint, but he declined. ;) The design was originally based on some Stargate fan art, but then he modified it a few stages...

Stardate: June 7.9 Soundtrack: Two Steps from Hell - Victory Commencing data-burst... ======= It's been a long time since our last transmission owing to all faction members being in stasis to avoid the deadly radiation of an anticipated cataclysmic event. All ships were de-constructed to...

      EVERYTHING WILL BE BROKEN

This seems like a fair point to me. As I recall, around the end of 2016 we were told the update would probably require a server reset. I think Shine made a mistake right there. The admins on our server offered us a 'soft-reset', saying they would import home bases only. So, everyone dutifully...

[OT] What draws you into playing StarMade over others in this genre?

The developer's commitment to maintaining or improving game performance. Linux support. Great logic system.

      Starmade just got 0wned...

This is one of the main reasons my friends and I stopped playing From the Depths and came to StarMade instead. At 50,000 blocks ships lagged badly unless you had a monster PC. In StarMade we've built things 10 times larger without problems. Don't get me wrong, FtD is a great game, very complex...

Stardate: December 3.1 Soundtrack: Thomas Bergesen - Our Destiny Commencing data-burst... ======= It might be difficult to make out from this image, but this is a fleet of 40-50 Krull ships that attacked us. We didn't think it was possible to be attacked by that many Krull at once, but...

Interserver Facs Big Facs Small Facs Fight (is that a problem)

Both sides lose... well that's what war is ;) Co-operation should yield more economic benefit than war, so in that sense things seem about right.
