Now that I can most definitely agree on, I would have rather had both added at the same time, even if that meant the sun buff happened in two weeks and this patch being just bug fixes.

What exactly would the transponder add, as in what additional info would it provide? Please sell me the idea of why I should add this block on my ships. I want to know just why I should take up space on my ship with this block instead of say a little stronger weapon system.

In two weeks we'll see how the devs balance, until then this debate is rather pointless. We'll see how things go then, and once we have the update and can see how it's balanced, we can go from there.

That would be a glorious turn of events, a fully updated and supported smedit would be just the thing that we need. Heck I'd take any update to smedit, just to prove the project isn't dead even if its not fully updated, just any sign of life or progress.

Although it does give small ships an edge it's completely unrealistic. IMO nothing should be able to withstand prolonged contact with a sun, but especially not fighters. It'd be more realistic to make supergiant ships stand it a little longer, but not much. Well have to wait two weeks and see...
