      Great idea. It also makes it easier to make a ship seem "docked" or stopped without needing to EVA to each turret. Maybe after 15 seconds of no targets the turrets rotate back.

      No, an Ion/Torpedo/Heavy Missile frigate, depending on it's weapons. I've played to much Homeworld to let that one fly.

      Take SE. The whole "program" block thing only about a third of the players can do a little in it, and even less actually use it for practicality. It's a sacred few that produce the TIM system and other awesome tools that the greater majority actually use.

      Is this just block repair, as in a block with 100 hp loses 50 and then slowly regenerates back to full, or is it actual block replacement, as in a missile explodinated part of your ship, and the hull over the area slowly seals over?

      How about some ratio of mass. So smaller things would need to be closer to the main structure, but you could make external station satellites with turrets outside the main station.
