      You can transform a pickup rail (not a pickup point, though) into a basic rail via logic and then target it with your docking beam. A less cumbersome method would be preferrable of course.

      This seems wrong, power supply beams consume 300 e/s. For 8333 power supply blocks you'd need an inefficient 2.5M reactor.

      We already have hundreds of different blocks, even with multi blocks, but only 10 measly hotbar slots. I'm not interested in even more actually unnecessary block swapping, if it could be avoided.

      Probably because the fixation on such a narrow goal wasn't properly communicated to the community. It's only natural to make suggestions, which reduce the risk, if people don't know that's not allowed.

      The curve could be linear above a certain point, which would be similar to docked or auxiliary reactors. The curve could have pretty much any desired shape.

      Power supply beams consume 300e per block and tick at a tick rate of 0.5, with 2.5s burst duration and 5s cooldown. That's 300e/s on average. To fully utitlize the 1.5 mil e/s you need 5000 blocks. 1 500 000 / (5000+900) = 254, and that's without capacitors and the other needed blocks.

      Shifting the problem from ship size to fleet size to faction size won't solve the basic problem of antisocial behaviour of some community members.

      Server config also allows for prohibiting big ships, if desired, so no changes are needed. Swarmers hit allies, which prevents making friends as well as using drones or fleets. I was just using some numbers as an example.

      If that's a problem for you, then you're in the wrong game. Some people never get enough. There are already so many nerfs for big ships in the game and you want even more. Why don't you just play on a server that doesn't allow big ships? Make turret AI able to shoot at unfactioned torpedos...

      That would be 4 extra bits per additional color, which would be a complete waste on blocks, that don't have colored variants.
