StarMade v0.199.214 Auxiliary Power, Better Graphics, Better Textures, and Bugfixes

The Lusitania sank because of the torpedo----coal dust doesn't have the explosive force necessary to cause much damage, even if contained in a bunker. Which, by the way, it wasn't (In a bunker). At this point, if the torpedo detonated coal dust, it had breached the bunker, making it fairly...

StarMade v0.199.214 Auxiliary Power, Better Graphics, Better Textures, and Bugfixes

Maybe because, unlike power caps, these things tend to explode when hit? Just a thought, really.

Shouldn't this thread be in the shipyard section? Anyway, awesome ship. Looks like it'll be great.

Something that rhymes with "Harris Class Frigate"

No, there's really not a good deal of mystery. By Mission 2 you really have a pretty good idea of what's actually happening. They allude to Cortana in the first mission/first inter-mission cutscene. Seriously, spoiling your own game. Quite an achievement, really. There was never any question of...

      Fleet Command logic

I agree with the above, though I'd add one additional caveat: Actual blocks or at least one block for these commands. That way, you can name remotes as you wish, and keeping the block-based nature of the game intact.

Something that rhymes with "Harris Class Frigate"

Ehhhh, Halo 5 was poorly written. Abysmal, in fact. For just one reason: They didn't order the missions right. (Warning, minor spoilers) If they had just played through all of the Osiris missions first, kept the mystery (Which they advertised about, the whole "The Master Chief's AWOL, is he now...

      Discussion on Ground Units

Here, have a poor picture of a nice dropship and some decent ground units. No tanks, I'm afraid. But then again, it does seem fairly useless to have tanks in a world with Fallout-esque suits of armor, or even Mjolnir-style suits of indestructible insanity.

Yeah, if you're building and there's asteroids in the view, your FPS is gonna tank. I had that problem building a Longsword replica---every time I turned towards whatever side was facing the asteroids (Most of a sector away from me) I lost 66 ish % of my FPS.

So, the Victory is remarkable. Here's a neat little (Brutal, though) game that you might like, seeing how you built a Victory. sw

Resurrecting an idea: Consolidate Armor Block Resources

It's one additional step that is completely unnecessary. Just allow us to, like slabs, choose different shapes. With the minor change of keeping the present multi-block functionality, just with one number that stands for remaining amount of that particular armor/hull.

Resurrecting an idea: Consolidate Armor Block Resources

I agree up to a point--- I'd like to see shapes disappear, but colors can stay. However, they should really be easier to work with. So, no more "Thou shalt apply thine color to thy armor at the step of 2, but not the step of 3. For if thou shalt wish for color, thou must placeth thine color at...

Read by Schine Paint Gun and Custom Color Maker

Arci, first off, please don't unnecessarily resurrect dead threads. Second: The reason is in the way the game works. The game uses BlockIDs to track each block, every one of which has a set amount of health, armor, logic functions, other functions, everything. Right now, it's all crammed into 3...

      Thermite is Fun!

I think that (If possible) it might be nice to simulate the increased volatility of larger reactors by really punishing extremely large reactors, but letting them be more efficient. I'm imagining these dangerous reactors as something like (Metaphor/reference point only) nuclear power sources...

      Interdictor frigate

I doubt that anyone was so stupid as to make an interdiction/patrol/customs vessel with no actual weaponry. That's just asking to get murderized. Unless you could somehow throw them into a nearby star or something hilarious and awesome like that. However, a vessel like this with an interdiction...

      Thermite is Fun!

Just gonna point out that the description of an all-or-nothing armor scheme here does not fit with the actual naval term, or maybe people are just referencing vessels that I'm unfamiliar with. By and large, the majority of vessels I've seen in StarMade focus on a complete armor scheme, rather...

Would you call cannon-cannon-effect weapons "tier 3"?

/Begin_ramble To build on this statement: If you have a tier 2 machinegun, and you try to shoot an enemy sniper, you're going to lose. If, instead, you have a machinegun and you're 20 feet away from said sniper, you will win. Continue this metaphor for any combo you want, my point stands...

      An idea for a kind-of war-server

So, a Starmade MOBA/RTS combo? Because more than one player is controlling it. I'd say give every player whatever ship they want, the rest are spawned with the intention of throwing them into fleets and using them, or something like that. It's too late in my time zone for me to think about the...
