Ok what if instead of basing the power off of block count/mass what if it was on the size of the ship. Since cloaking is bending light it should be harder the bigger the ship is. so say you have a 5x5x5 ship that has nothing in the middle would be just as hard as a 5x5x5 ship thats 100% filled...
I think a teleporter system that you can link like the wireless systems so you can teleport between say turrets or other parts of the ship would be awesome. Just keep it for players only.
I want this so bad. Now for performance. Maybe make it so it doesn't light up other entities unless a actual pilot is in the main ship to reduce any possible lag.
Idea 1:
When a logic block sends a signal to a bobby AI block it makes it so the turret tracks where the pilot cursor is. Once the signal goes off it stops tracking the cursor.
Idea 2:
Add a new option to bobby AI "cursor".
If a ship has any turrets with its mode set to "cursor", that turret...
If that were something you could put on a ship.... yeah OP. Target their weapons then their jump drives... GG. But typically once a ships shields are down its already GG.
I would like a system block locator. So say you board a ship and want to find and destroy the faction block. Have some item that will show where all the system blocks are so you have a chance of finding it. I wouldn't give it the power to show specific blocks but rather computers and other...
Feel free to suggest alterations to the equation. The main idea here is that smaller ships can easily cloak but as your ship gets bigger and bigger its exponentially harder to cloak it.
I originally posted this in a topic but i felt it merited its own topic. If you would like to see the original topic you can go here: http://starmadedock.net/threads/cloaking-should-be-changed.19966/
I think that cloaking/jamming power costs should start low and exponentially cost more the more...
Doing this kind of thing would just make larger ships even more OP over small fighters. Thats one of the few advantages small ships have. I would say directional thrusters are far more important.
I think that cloaking costs should start low and exponentially cost more with more blocks. I don't feel large capital ships should be able to realistically cloak. The total block count needs to include any docked entites/turrets.
My suggestion:
- Cloak power cost that starts low and...
I also dont like that people can go inside my ship in build mode from another ship, say you dont want people to figure out your ships layout. I think it would be nice if you could prevent that. Now i do recognize how useful it can be if you are working on your own ship and someone wants you to...
So if i read all the comments right these are all the ideas being thrown out there:
- Get rid of loot clouds
- Make it so loot is given when ship is salvaged instead of the cloud spawning
- Make derelict stations have a % chance of the block being salvaged as normal and not scrap
- Make damaged...
Docked entities do share shields, its only until the main ship hits 49% then the docked entity is on its own. Now if the docked entity has shields and takes a hit those shields will be used first before the main ships. Once the docked entities shields are down it uses the main ships.
