fully customizable 100% player created components is starmades biggest advantage over similar games.
youre equating starmades lack of well developed graphics and sound with a lack of depth... youre wrong.
i watched 3x 300 mass ships take out a fairly tanky 15k mass ship. and ive killed 50k-100k mass ships with 10-20x 100 mass ships. and no, theyre not fancy or hard to make.
hes not saying his tastes make it better or worse, hes saying its objectively worse, which it is.
to add, worse doesnt mean useless. you can still kill something with a "worse" gun.
with just a core and no other mass, 1 thruster puts you at 2.5.
there isnt an optimal, because "best thrust-block count" is subjective, and overall tmr goals are different per player. just know it gets really shitty as you get up in weight and are trying to fling around 100k+ stuff at 1.5+ tmr.

you dont seriously think the people creating this game are doing it for "us" do you? they intend for it to become a product they sell for money. theyve already voiced opinions about not expecting to retain their current userbase.
