Actually, the interior on the left is a newer model. I used to do a six-sided reactor/stabilizer array but I've been experimenting with stabilization efficiency and alignment angles.
In any case, I'm currently blocked by three obstacles...
1) Lack of gravity: The radial gravity chamber...
When StarMade gives you a limitation, it is often possible to build around that limitation. That's part of the fun of this game.
If you don't want the dock to come from the ship, you could make it come from the base instead.
Hope this helps.
Two more things that help me when building smaller ships: 1) quad symmetry and 2) rotating the reactor/stabilizer alignments in advanced build mode. That should allow you to get more power from your reactor setup. Also, kudos to you @[278369:Tilbo] for showing the small ships the love they...
Ships that small are usually relatively under-powered. If you're fighting other small craft, I recommend guided missiles for PVE and beams for PVP. Forward facing turrets with their AI set to "selected target" can auto-aim for you; making the fight easier. Just make sure you give them an...
Here's another one that's long overdue:
Give ye old gravity block the ability to remainst "always-on".
He who dost worship the Schiney sphere and createth his OWN worlds in anticipation, demands it!
However, shootout rails are affected by the docked object's mass. This makes moving larger objects a slow and painful process. Even mass enhancers didn't seem to do much.
Why am I suddenly getting a Star Trek; Into Darkness vibe?
In any case, you might be able to use a gravity block for a similar effect. You will need to extend a line of blocks (water or open plex doors will do nicely) to continue the gravity. Otherwise it will wear off in less than 50...
I originally thought the "Quickfire Initiative" was an in-game player created faction. Then I read for a while and found out what it really is... (Face palms)
Just when I had all but lost hope, here you all are; Schine and the community back at it again. This literally brought a tear to my...
This is already possible and has been for years. In fact, a large part of my fleet was geared toward this specific capability at one point.
All the ships shown here used interchangeable modules ranging from salvagers, to lasers, to missile launchers, to cargo pods, to magazine fed...
Nice; I learned something new. Thanks.
It would be cool if these factions would start out small instead of taking up an entire quadrant of the galaxy.
As it stands now, these guys are basically an infestation that bloats the database, eats up resources (both in game and on your PC...
The NPC AI is... well... really, REALLY dumb. For this reason, it's not uncommon for players to turn off NPC factions altogether.
Try this...
1) Go in to your StarMade installation folder, and open the file called server.cfg in your notepad app.
2) Seach for the following line...
C&C? Awwwwwww Shyt!
My ideas with regard to crew:
- All crew within 50 meters of a first aid block slowly auto-heal.
- Crew cause ships/stations to slowly auto-repair over time when not fighting. The more crew onboard, the faster the repair rate.
- On a planet, the more "crew rooms" you...
Clipping and weaponized lag are definitely lame but I have nothing against docked armor; provided it doesn't contribute noticeably to lag.
As for that XBB; from what I've learned, it seems more like skillful use of logic than an actual exploit. Is it really an exploit? Meaning; is it bugged...
Physically fitting partial blocks together is only one way to occupy the same space. In theory, you can fit 4 slabs or two wedges but like I said; there are other tricks. After all, collision only affects things that move. But what about things that don't move but instead have an on/off...
By focusing on block HP, you can lower the HP gains that overlapping allows but a determined player can still dock on more entities to overlap and thus, increase their armor.
Slabs and wedges can be fit together in the way you explain but there are other tricks as well.
For example, by...
I don't see what's so confusing about my idea. There's nothing "circuitous" about it.
According to your original post, you want to remove the benefit of overlapping multiple blocks within the same physical space and thus, disincentivise people from doing it. Am I right?
With respect; my...
If the overlapping blocks are being damaged separately by the same 1K damage weapon, then the collective HP of all those overlapping blocks is irrelevant to this discussion; as it has no impact on damage to adjacent blocks or overall damage to the ship.
As such; I must conclude that you are...
+1 for admins' discretion. However, it would be nice if Schine would tighten up some of these exploits from their end.
Either way; no matter how many of these threads pop up, the simplest solution is to pick servers where the admins do not allow the use of exploits and avoid servers where the...
Perhaps you've misinterpreted my meaning.
You are not doing 4K damage. You are doing 1K damage to everything in that one cubic meter space. At no point is damage added up, multiplied or increased in any way. It doesn't matter if you have one block or a dozen or a hundred. ALL blocks in...
