      The ultimate drone R&D thread

As it stands now, filling your fighter bays with more shields and weapons is far more effective than carrying fighters. That kinda takes away the incentive to have carriers/fighters in the first place. I know they supposedly got rid of stabilizer placement distance but what do you guys think...

      The Quickfire Initiative: Rebalancing StarMade.

Agreed. I often use large blocks of crystal armor to simulate ballistic media for weapons testing. Small guns do next to nothing to the block; even with rapid fire or multiple simultaneous hits. There also seems to be a "soft cap" of roughly 240 missiles held in storage. Adding storage...

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

I've been holding off on the QF dev builds since they haven't (last time I checked) made it official. Maybe it's time With regard to missiles; in vanilla, I've seen no evidence of missiles ignoring armor, though I could just be seeing the effects of damage dissipating via the radial...

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

In my specific case making space isn't a problem., for uniformity, I've chosen a drone/fighter size that approximates modern day fighter aircraft like F-15s or Migs. The dimensions are 15m L, 15m W, and 9m H. I leave 1m of extra space on all sides of the bay for manual docking or...

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

Keptick , You started this thread with that rather brilliant drone rack design. Since I have an almost irresistible urge to cram fighters into my ships, I too would like to see this thread continue since there have been a few changes over the past 2 years. Do you feel that under the...

      Logic Tractor Beam help

Thanks for the reply. I too have lined everything up with galactic north. The object I'm trying to push is a rail spawn; also at galactic north. Regardless of projectile size, ship orientation emitter position, etc. I always get a shot that aims about 9.5 degree upwards. This is a picture of...

      Torpedo and Weapon 2.0

Sounds like a warhead sawblade launcher. Whammy Likes... (y) However, my device doesn't leave a "tiny breach" when it hits.

      Logic Tractor Beam help

Silly question... When your tractor beam is in "push" mode, the rock seems to go straight. When I try it, it locks onto the object and pushes it upward at a 9.5 degree angle. Is there something special that needs to be done to make the beam push straight forward?

      Torpedo and Weapon 2.0

My method uses the bombs and as such, requires no glitching. It even counters spaced armor to a degree even though that's not what it was designed for. Overall, I'm pleased with how it turned out. It should be noted that the same rules apply to bombs as regular missiles. - Vulnerable to AMS...

      Torpedo and Weapon 2.0

Agreed. And for the record, there IS a way to make an unguided bomb-based torpedo; though they are somewhat larger than what I'm used to. They can be "effective" against stationary targets, (with a few pluses and minuses) but the inertia effect that the bombs have make them impractical...

      I don't get Starmade anymore.

Considering how many people don't jump straight into titan building, (especially in their early learning stages) and considering the OP essentially said he/she doesn't know how to build (not how big) I'd say you're the only one "missing" things. From the OP's original post: Instead of...

      I don't get Starmade anymore.

Actually, I am. And as klawxx demonstrates, I'm not the only one. There's more to appearance than trying to emulate a curve or slope. If it somehow, psychologically "injures" you that StarMade does not allow for the "resolution" needed for perfect curves/slopes, then that's your...

      I don't get Starmade anymore.

There's more to aesthetic building than just trying to make "all these squares make a circle". DBZA references aside; there is a LOT that can be done with regard to a ship's appearance in the sub-100m size range and even the sub-50m range. I'm kind of a living proof of that. Though not...

      I don't get Starmade anymore.

      1) Your motivation: You started playing the game and want to get better. This is understandable and admirable. Anyone who would flame you for this isn't worth listening to. 2) Your problem: Lack of understanding of ship systems and aesthetics. In other words; you are neither an engineer...

      Shipyard beauty!

There's some awesome looking yards on here. I need to start a new shipyard for my updated ships. In the mean time, here are a few pics of my previous yards built onto/into different models of the Mobile Command System. This is a shipyard (station) with an older M.C.S. (Mobile Command...

      Small Simple Requests

Nice. I have a similar setup to yours but I use the other metal bars so the arm rests sit at a more realistic height. I also have a 40in holographic view screen to interface with the onboard "Cross-linked Biometric Optical Xentrometer". (X-Box) for... "training simulations" ;) Small...

      Introducing The United Star Axis

That last Lancer model looked a bit plain. Time to finish it up with a "minor refit". This version will be able to be re-purposed via modular components; similar to the original pathfinder transport. LANCER MKIII Manufacturer: Joint project between Star Axis subsidiaries; Nexus Inc...
