      Exploring planets pays (possible spoiler)

In my previous 0.17x world I had a base in a pyramid that had another one inside. The first desert planet on this tour had a pyramid too, but it was only a quarter build because it was very much at the edge of a plate. I did land there too, but no plexbox so I traveled on with the result as...

      Exploring planets pays (possible spoiler)

As a single-player all beginning is tough, certainly if you don't want to use admin cheats. To get faction and territory perks actually a planet based base is a good way to start getting those. Here's what happened if you won't mind a small spoiler. ;) Greets, Jan

How could I allocate more memory to Starmade?

In the new launcher (v.14) goto the menu ' Options / Memory Settings...' and change the values there according to what's available. Greets, Jan

Bug unable to use forums on desktop

Well, I use Firefox and since two weeks this site is dead slow at this time of day (evening / night over here). With dead slow I mean clicking on a link takes from 10 to 40 seconds to respond. Wonder if this has anything to do with the revamping here some time ago. Greets, Jan

Bug Rightclick entered number of blocks not always used

Always comforting to know it's not just something specific to my installation, thanks. ;) Greets, Jan

Bug Rightclick entered number of blocks not always used

Hi All, I noticed a subtle bug when using right-click to get a certain amount from a stack of blocks and place them in another location, like from the inventory into a factory or the pick bar at the bottom, or vice versa. In some occasions when clicking on an empty slot to place a selected...

Bug Salvage broken, even worse than it used to be

I wondered when I read the thread title what you meant, but since I always hook my salvage beams up with cannons I see now why I haven't noticed anything wrong with them. ;) Greets, Jan

An Analysis of Operating Systems to run StarMade

Okee, fair enough, I'll keep that in mind. Well my programming has mostly been a hobby that grew slightly out of hand for my own pleasure, although I must add I build some applications for other third parties as well. ;) Of course 64bits is something quite recent and not yet available when I...

      unreadable colored fonts in launcher

Hmm, I agree, presumably the color is set by default because all are links to their bug tracking page. Blue on a black background is bad readable, maybe using cyan instead would be a better option in this case. It's not possible to change this yourself, but you could click outside of a link and...

Question about Craft capsule option in the inventory

This is something that already changed in the previous crafting update(s) and it suddenly caught me. <g> The 'Craft Capsule' option button in the players inventory creates meshes and crystals depending on the raw ores or shards one puts in there, but not capsules. I presume this is intentional...

Bug Array index out of bounds exception (non breaking)

Hi All, Today, when I added a new folder for the 0.18 update in the 'Options / Installation Settings' menu dialog of the Launcher (v.14) I got an error when pressing the Ok button. The messagebox that popped up mentioned something like 'array index out of bounds (-1)'. However, when closing...

An Analysis of Operating Systems to run StarMade

Hmm, maybe it depends on the brand you use. I've always been a Borland adept since I started with Turbo C++ 3.0 for Dos long ago. With windows I mostly used C++Builder Prof. with excellent IDE, documentation lookup and of course the VCL, a framework of visual windows components, much superior to...

      StarMade 0.18 - A new Universe

It sounds all very interesting, obviously time to go for a fresh install for this one. I am a little puzzled how the faction points stuff will work out for single-player mode, but I presume I'll see what happens. Thanks guys, looks like a milestone update. ;) Greets, Jan

An Analysis of Operating Systems to run StarMade

Well, when you get older years ago very quickly becomes 10 to 15, so the package handling will have improved over that time. lol I don't know of any other Linux distro that comes with a C++ compiler and linker out of the box, so having to install it afterwards, that's no problem. ;) Greets, Jan

An Analysis of Operating Systems to run StarMade

Interesting, my only experience with Linux years ago was Mandrake, later called Mandriva, what is now a commercial product I believe. My experience was that the initial install was very stable, better then windows, certainly when one let it run overnight day after day. Sadly, when it came to...

      Starmade, meet Tesla.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy if fuel was never added. I only wanted to point out for those who quickly say "hey, let's have fuel" that adding something like that isn't that simple without much deliberation. ;) Greets, Jan

      Launcher error

Hmm, did you google the error, it seems there's a lot about this phenomenon, you're obviously not the only one. Have a look here, maybe there's a solution in there as I obviously not know your exact pc configuration. Good luck. Greets, Jan

      Starmade, meet Tesla.

Personally I feel fuel isn't something that's really needed at this stage of the game, also because the motion 'to add fuel' sounds much simpler then what would be implied in my opinion. When you add a fuel component it will probably more like you add different engine types with different...
