True, but look at your example there. Its got long arms (presumably due to there being cross style generator lines in there). You could run plenty of power down the central hull and put a few stabilizers out on the ends of those pylons along with the weapons and call it a day. About the only...

      Artificial Gravity Landing Pads

I like the emitter idea. Star Trek multiple times have mentioned gravity plating being underneath the deck floors in order to generate the artificial gravity. Currently for my ships and stations, I'm very careful about putting gravity blocks connected to area sensors across doors so that it...

So you have access to the private dev development server now? Because they've repeatedly said that small ships won't need stabilizers at all, and that you can just slap your reactors down in a blob and be done with it. But hey, it doesn't really matter. You'll either come around to the new...

      DPS Advice for a newbie?

This should help: Basically the DPS of your weapons overall is less important than their DPP (Damage Per Projectile). You want your DPP to be high enough to break a target type of block in one hit, because essentially any shot that hits armor and doesn't break it is mostly a wasted shot...

I'm not going to miss being forced into big boxy squares or gordian knots to try and squeeze enough power into a small enough space. Thats fine. We'll either eventually have mechanics/rules in places for disconnected bits if that becomes a problem, or you can have a ship that is literally...

      Consolidate Straight Pipe Facings

Pretty simple, the straight piece pipes (and I think to some extent the light rods) have full facing options when they honestly don't need it. Gets kind of annoying to scroll and scroll and scroll while the piece in front of you visually is doing nothing because its basically rotating around...

      Easier block rotation

I gotta agree here. Being able to have better control over the exact direction a block rotates would be much nicer than what frankly looks half random decisions. I'm constantly scrolling up and down with a piece to find the orientation I want, and like rotations are rarely next to each other.

Except that, you know, the entire idea of engine pods of one kind or another are damned near universal. It even makes sense in real world physics. You don't put your living quarters in the same region as your reactor, for radiation shielding purposes. I mean, you can call it "retarded design...

What I find amusing is how many people are jumping to "doom bananas/crescents/dumbells/etc" while ignoring the simple fact that many of the iconic ships in scifi are built on the exact same principles. The entire Star Trek nacelle design is because Trek warp coils need to be farther away from...

I paid for the game ages ago, and I don't even honestly feel they owe me a finished game at this point. I've gotten more hours of enjoyment out of Starmade already than I have most AAA titles that cost me 5x as much.

Ship core adjustment with new system

Oh its not even a user friendly program, its a Python script that requires passing a BUNCH of arguments into the command line to use. I'm actually going to see if I can make a GUI for it, because I'm tired of keeping a text file of my most commonly used commands.

      Fleet Operations and Stars.

This is correct. The fleet will only actually "exist" as long as it is in loaded space (space within a couple sectors of an active player). Once it gets out of that range, it unloads along with everything else and the system just calculates where it should be given maximum speed and has the...

Considering how ridiculously small the Schine team is, I'd really rather they spend their time making the game instead of paying a community manager to babysit the kiddies who don't understand "things take time, and we know what we're doing better than you do, chill".

Ship core adjustment with new system

I dunno why you're getting disagreed with, SMBEdit is the ONLY way I build ships anymore. I stick my core outside the ship, build in whatever manner feels right, and then use SMBEdit to move the core to wherever it is I want it to go when I'm done. The whole "gotta have an unmovable core as...
