I feel that to some extent the trading guild should be flawed both to provide a learning curve for new players and to help them learn about systems by dismantling TG ships.
Normally I'd say add some raised plates but that would ruin the alien athstetic. So I'm gonna say add some wire-like glowing crystal inets to break up the flatness of the hull.

You can make angles less than 45 degrees using turret rotors like so:
As long as its not go an ai in it a manually rotated object on a turret rotor will stay at the angle you leave it at.
This is the huge one, the one that this is 10x larger than died when my HDD exploded.
Edit: If there was one ten times larger than this then the hand alone would be over a km.

With AI on any decent difficulty setting PD has a very good chance of shooting down missile/beam, sure you can offset this with multiple outputs but the increased power cost from multiple outputs would quickly eat up the DPS economy you mention.
I don't understand why people dislike being on the defending side, setting up gigantic seige guns and watching the sky fill with explosions makes for great gameplay.
